Saw this over at slickdeals:

GameStop/EBGames has dropped prices on select console games to $20. Free shipping with coupon code SAVER on $25+ orders, otherwise it starts at $2.50. Same prices should be available in stores, if you prefer shopping there. Thanks Libertarian

Categories and items of interest (prices are $20 each, unless otherwise noted):

I'd totally buy that if I didn't have a backlog and weren't 100% sure that it will be $20-30 in a month or two.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Best Buy's B2G1 DS sale still has a glitch as of last night. It takes off the last game scanned by the CSR regardless of price. They have several 9.99 DS games available.

Bought two 9.99 crap DS games and got Legend of Starfy free (29.99). Cost was 21.65 including tax, out the door. Will sell or trade in the crap DS games.

i don't know if that's necessarily correct as it's a ymmv situation. at my local store, when i purchased 3 games, they had to manually override to get the deal, and they knew to take off the cheapest one.

Thanks for the info!
I went out and snagged Prince Of Persia and SW: Force Unleashed (both for PS3) today now that they have hit my price point...of course, first store I went to, they're like "yeah, we have new copies", and then try and give me unwrapped/unsealed "new" copies....luckily, the next store over (which is virtually right across the street from there) did have "real" (factory sealed) new copies of both....

Yeah, caught wind of this on CAG on Tuesday night.

Luckily, I got in on all of the deals I wanted through their website before most became "unavailable online".

Seems like the most popular titles (and the title with the biggest drop) is Bionic Command being $20 for both systems.

I ordered @ $20 each:
PS3 Bionic Commando
PS3 Wheelman
PS3 Tom Clancy's Hawx
PS3 Oblivion GOTY
PS3 Trivial Pursuit

Picked up Star Wars: Force Unleashed & Wheelman for $20 each. I was waiting for this price point on both.

Was going to get Bionic Commando but they only had the gutted copies left. I'll check back again to see if they have a sealed one before the sale is over.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Besides sports games, which rarely drop in price quickly, I am done buying games at full price. I got Deadly Creatures and Eat Lead: TROMH from BB tonight for $9.99 each. Awesome deals.

How did you get Deadly Creatures for $10? I know that BB is matching Gamestop's $19.99 price, but had not heard anything about getting it for less.

I picked up Eat Lead on Monday for $10, after reading about the RZ Gamers $20 coupon.

Is there a BB Reward Zone Gamers coupon for DC too?

Nope. It's a YMMV thing, my store had it for $19.99 plus 50% off.

Same.

The only game I've budgeted for the buy at full price coming up is Modern Warfare 2, which I know everyone on my friend's list will be playing for months at launch.

All it took was a look at my backlog and a quick survey of my spending habits to realize that I can really wait for games to drop to $20 or less, especially how quickly they've been dropping lately.

They won't honor that, but if you were to return the games (if you haven't opened them) and buy them again... that'll work.

I wish. I've been good for the first 7 months of this year. I think the only new game I've bought at full SRP is WiiSports Resort, as that is about as likely to have a price drop as Kim Jong Ill having a slumber party with Obama at the White House.

All that work goes out the window in the fall. The Beatles: RockBand is priority one. Halo 3: ODST is also already pre-ordered. I just sold Metroid Prime 3 in anticipation of the trilogy, which will likely be a day one purchase as well. There's no way I can hold out on Bioshock 2. Sigh... another packed third quarter.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I know it's been mentioned, but maybe bears repeating:

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition

$20 new, $18 used at Gamestop.

That's a lot of game for $20!
