Order Super Mario Galaxy 2 and get $20 off a future video game purchase. The promotional code will be placed directly into your Amazon.com account within 2 business days after the product ships. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. Promotion valid on all existing orders. Limit of both one per household and one per customer. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time.

I already pre-ordered SMG2 from Amazon using credits from other games. They usually add these promos to pre-orders retroactively, hope that's the case this time as well.
Edit: just read the text. It clearly states "Promotion valid on all existing orders."

The one game on the Wii I was looking forward to and that's a deal I can't pass up.
I just hope my Wii still powers on.

SMG2 pops up in my Gold Box all the time, so I think I'm going to wait a few days to see if I can get it to show up again before pulling the trigger. Every $3-$4 bucks help.

To an extent. You can weed through your recommendations to move stuff towards the top. However, I've had Alan Wake at the top of my list for 2 months now and it still hasn't shown up in my gold box.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
That was me, and yes, although I have noticed a discrepancy in my method in the store forum*. And it's pretty lengthy, and I couldn't find and old post where I summed it up, I'll try and make this short. There are four methods in order of easiest to most time consuming:
1. Wish List - In the past things in your wish list or saved in your cart wouldn't show up. As soon as I started clearing them out of my wish list things started showing up. There are a few people in a store forum thread claiming otherwise, so that method to determine your GB may have changed. Personally, I have never had anything show up in my GB that I currently had in my Wish List. Did I say never? Yeah, not yesterday, not today, not 6 months ago or otherwise, it hasn't happened for me. Maybe the rules are different in regards to BDs since that's the big discrepancy that I've seen from those posters (they're talking BDs and I'm talking VGs)
2. Frequently Bought Together - When you click on an item you want you scroll down to the "Frequently Bought Together" section. Click on the other item(s) that are paired with the one you want and scroll down and mark them as "I own this" and give it a 5 star rating. Since those are frequently paired together Amazon will see that you own one and recommend the other(the one you want) by tossing it in your GB. Example, I want SMG2 so it shows Metroid: Other M and NSMBWii as frequently bought together, so I mark Metroid and NSMBW as owned and 5 stars.
3. Improve your Recommendations - Go to the Personalization section of your account and there is a link to improve your Recommendations. This is a combination of your order history and everything you have marked as "I own this" on their site. You can scroll through and mark anything you don't want Amazon to use for recommendations. So if you bought a $5 gardening tool 6 months ago, Amazon will still see that and use it, so go through and mark anything and everything you don't want them to base recommendations on.
4. Rating Recommendations - Again under Personalization in your account there is another link called "Recommended for You." This shows everything that is recommended for you on any given day. You can click any item and it shows you why it is being recommended and you can mark whether or not you are interested in that item so it never gets recommended again.
This is not 100% foolproof, but I have narrowed it down to where I get nearly all BDs and games every day. There are still days where I get random shit like a Beard trimmer and Water Filters (like today) but there's usually at least one game or movie in there as well (Fable 3 and Sherlock Holmes today). So one method may help a little, but I keep up on all four and usually get everything I want in there.
Just so you don't think I'm talking out of my ass, I have the following already pre-ordered with GB discounts(I can always cancel later if a better deal comes along):
*Discrepancy aside, I tossed a few new things on my Wish List today to see if I can get them to show up in my GB. I'm not very hopeful that it will work.
