Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yup, Amazon is selling the game for $40 and paying $33 for trade-in. I'm sending back my copy while the exchange is so good -- it won't be for long.

______________

For those who like casual PC shooter games, Steam is selling 7 indie games for $2 each or $10 for the whole package. Folks on CAG are saying this is a great deal. I'll probably get it for the heck of it. Deal is until Thursday.

If you somehow managed to avoid Assassin's Creed 2 until now, it's on sale for only $29.99 at Best Buy this week.

Worth a pick up even though I still have AC1 in my unopened/unplayed pile?

Absolutely, it's a great game. Be aware though that AC2 takes place *seconds* after AC1. There's a brief recap at the beginning of the game, but you get thrust right into the action with characters from AC1. Easy to get into but it's so much more fulfilling if you know/have played the story from the first.

No. By the time you're ready to play it, you'll be able to get it for $10-$20.

I highly doubt it. Worst case is you try and the computer doesn't allow it.

If it doesn't work, scream like a little girl, throw your phone at the clerk, and run from the store.

Does screaming through the phone give one the built-in excuse that you were talking to someone else?

no coupon needed? Looks like the CE is on sale for $69. $20 on top of that would be sweet.

It's $59.99 on BB.com, so I'm sure that sale price above is a/c.

No, just the SKU#. They text things like this from time-to-time. It's more believable if you text yourself the content of that message, but it's really not necessary. You do need to be an RZ member, though.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Wonder why it's $69 @ BB. It's still $99 @ Amazon. Maybe a price mistake? I'm thinking this might be the time to grab that sucker since there is a 10% off rewards zone coupon right now.

It does work for the CE. 49.99 plus tax out the door!

Couldn't get the 10% RZ coupon to work though. OH well.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Just picked it up the CE at BB for $49.99 plus tax.

The box was torn to shit however with their security wires that ripped through the slipcover.

Thanks for the post!

Same here. $53.52 after tax. I did have them go to the stock room to grab me one without the security wire though. Awesome deal.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Got in on Bioshock 2 (I had signed up for the text messages some time back) for $39.99 + tax. I had been waiting for a decent deal on this one.

Also got them to price match walmart.com's $39.96 price on Battlefield BC 2 for the 360, and was able to get the LE for that price.

I was actually dreading going in after the last issue I had with them using one of these text message codes. However, I had no issues at all on either the PM or the text code.

Maybe my calling corporate and ending up having an email conversation with the manager in which I replied when asked about anything he could do to make their store better and I sent him the info from the BestBuy website regarding their text program and asked him to go over it with his staff, and especially his Operations Manager actually had some impact, or maybe I just got lucky
