Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Thanks. I did a quick calculation too, and it looks like the purchase of the Ipad is what will get me to Elite status. A few days too late

I don't know why, but Best Buy gave me Elite Status this year. I haven't spent $1500 there in the last 5 years combined

Well, maybe combined I have...

Just picked up Shadow of Mordor (XO) and Skylanders Trap Team for 360 (I know, but that's what my son likes to game on). No bad. I thought about Alien but figured I'd just borrow it from a friend instead.

Wolfenstein, Evil Within, Murdered Soul Suspect @ 19.99 for me probably, btw for anybody who does not have Deadpool....at $9.99 it's quite worth it and then some.
For whatever reason, the price on Saints Row IV is live. I went ahead and ordered a copy. I have been waiting on a deal on this one for awhile since I bought the season pass for cheap online long ago.

Big list of PC games on sale right now on EA's Origin. Nothing particularly amazing in my opinion, but not too bad for picking up some older titles.

Took advantage of the gcu Sunday and picked up dragon age, after trading in ac unity. $6 out of pocket. This program has already paid for itself and then some.

I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed. DA:Origins with all the DLC is $14.99 or only 50% off. I'd call that pricy for such an old game. Also, the online component for many games is just dead... (the Crysis series). I know some of the DLC was likely just maps which now have no value but I'm finding it tough to see what is still worth buying. Can I do better if I wait or are Origin games historically high priced?

Is Amazon going to have any decent video game sales or is it going to be Assassin's Creed I and II for the entire week? -

I'm not sure, I looked back at when I re-purchased the Dragon Age games on Origin and I paid $14.99 for it as well, as people recommended the Awakenings DLC. I paid $5.99 for the standalone Dragon Age 2. I don't know if it's been any cheaper on Steam but there should be Steam sales shortly and you can see if it might be on sale there.

I got it on Origin with the assumption that just about all EA games were going to only be there from now on, and wanted all of the games in the same place.

Black Friday or not, is Microsoft really that desperate to sell consoles? I figured the Xbox One was at least gaining some traction in battling the PS4.

It's parentheses, not asterisks.

Yes to both, they're desperate to not keep letting the PS4 lead continue to increase. And they are gaining some traction, but it's largely because of the price cuts.
