Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Best Buy, despite having spotty customer service, has a fairly well trained staff... when compared to Walmart.

So much so that the girl at our local Best Buy was trying to help me figure out the cheapest way to get Gamers Club Unlocked, tested a handful of SIM cards to find which worked

Additionally, it's supposed to be amazon proper that is pricematched not a third party seller.

So yeah, people suck but this one is on the employees. Idiots.

I've had WalMart grill me over absolutely legitimate price matches to save a few bucks at most. I can't get my head around someone managing to swindle them for $200.

It was $300 off, so I can't fathom why they wouldn't need a manager override or something for that amount.

My Walmart doesn't even price match Walmart.com.

Because it's a big promotion right now that they'll price match Amazon, I imagine there is a lot of head scratching going on.

This is where having employees with at least some amount of common sense and knowledge of their own product pays off. Employees that work in an area and that have been working in a particular department that still don't know much about what is in that department after having worked there for some time really irritates me.

Hmmm... nothing great. I might pick up Sniper Elite 3 but would prefer that title at $15 or as a GwG deal.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Watch_Dogs is the only "deal" there that isn't better elsewhere. Well, that and maybe FH2.

GCU can get Mordor for half their sale price.

Who has a better price on Sunset Overdrive? I already bought it for myself, but I might get it for my kid brother as well.

Loving that FH2 price.

And for those of us who don't have an Xbox One, here are the 360 ones:

Wolfenstein, Evil Within, Murdered Soul Suspect @ 19.99 for me probably, btw for anybody who does not have Deadpool....at $9.99 it's quite worth it and then some.

Well, okay it's $8 cheaper than anyone with GCU could buy it any day of the week at Best Buy. That's hardly a reason to celebrate considering it came with a $10 RZ certificate at launch.

You're right FH2 is a very good price for an EXCELLENT driving game. I was just commenting that it's a little disappointing considering two years ago the MS Store sold FH1 for $14.99 on Black Friday at exactly the same amount of time after that game launched.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Hmm... Assassin's Creed bundle + free game (no mention yet what the options are) at Microsoft Store could top the Target deal, depending on what the free game choices are.

Any word on whether there will be 50% off PS+ cards on BF like at GameStop last year?

No. Last year those $30 (40% off) cards were at almost all retailers. That was a Sony-sponsored promotion, announced on the PS Blog. No announcement like that this year.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah I think I got all my BF shopping done already. Best Buy is killing it this year on movies and games.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

So how come I don't see those prices at best buy even if I have GCU? Is there separate qualification for Elite? Found it. $1.5k purchase a year. Wonder how much I need more? I thought I purchased a bunch. Thanks anyway.

I'm also not elite. Still going to do most of my BF shopping on Best Buy online.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I'm Elite but not GCU. I know there'll be slightly better deals, but I went ahead and got two copies of the Disney Infinity 2.0 Toy Box starter set for the Wii U for $39.99 each. I'm tempted by a lot of the other deals, but none of those are on my must-have list.

So for Elite members, are all BF deals already available for you? Including Ipad deals? If yes, I'll really be envious, as that's the only reason I may go to stores on BF day

For the most part, everything seems to be there. No iPads, though, and I've noticed some other omissions like Maleficent on Blu-ray.
