Thanks for this! I don't know if I'll be getting any games, but I've found some really good prices on dvds I've been waiting to drop in price.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

For those that ordered the Guitar Hero 5 deal from Amazon, did you get $10 worth of mp3 credit? I got emails today telling me the $10 video game and $5 general mp3 credits were applied to my account, but nothing about the $5 specifically for GH5 songs. Just wondering if it will come later or if I need to contact Amazon and see why I didn't get the credit.

I got the same as you. $10 Video Game, and $5 mp3. I don't really care about the mp3 credits though.

Actually, I got the $10 VG credit on my account, and then I remembered reading that it was supposed to automatically apply to any pending pre-orders. I had a pending Pre-Order for Beatles: Rock Band, and I noticed that it hadn't applied. So I emailed customer service to ask if it would apply at shipping, or if I had to cancel and re-order. I got a reply back from customer service that they reduced the price of my pre-order to 46.99, and here's the best part... the $10 Video Game credit is still on my account.

According to CAG, TRU is going to be giving away a $20 gift card with ODST.

I've gone from a GS pre-order for the LE, to Amazon (ECA, GB +Prime) to Toys R Us. I feel like I'm laundering money.

Nice deal. FWIW, I wound up calling Amazon and telling them my situation. They found the promo but didn't know how to apply the specific deal to my account. The csr wound up just giving me another $5 download credit good on any mp3 purchase. So maybe if you really want that credit, it might be worth calling.

Well, I finally got my game today (29 days after ordering it). Just in time for me to ignore it and play Beatles Rock Band instead. At least it (barely) came out before regular season kickoff. It has a Not For Resale sticker over the UPC code, in case anyone was wondering about that.

Sweet! This deal can be pricematch at Best Buy right? I've got $30 in rewards certificates i was planning to use on Halo so that would be great if i can get the $20 GC on top of it.

They can be a little funny about price matching with a gift card, but if you bring in the ad, they'll probably agree to it. I got them to give me a $10 gift card to match Circuit City for GTA IV last year.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I just got a message from a store called Micro Center saying that the Beatles Rock Band game will be $39.99, in-store only, apparently until the 13th. They don't have many locations though; I was on their mailing list because I ordered something online from them.

Here's a link to the locations if anybody's interested: http://www.microcenter.com/at_the_stores/index.html

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

So I'm not a huge Guitar Hero player, but I do enjoy it and own all the GH 360 games so far.

I planned on buying GH5 once it hit bargain bins in a year or so, but don't want to miss the Van Halen disc.

What are you guys thoughts on the price/availability of those two discs down the road? Should I jump on a deal this month before the freebie expires? Am I safe waiting until next year and buying somebody's used discs? Is there a really killer deal right now? Looks like the Amazon free MP3 credit deal is over.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

They'll be cheaper than $30 each soon. Titles like this are clearance fodder. And if you can't wait that long, they'll be easy to pick up secondhand cheap.

Thanks. Silly me thought the Van Halen disc was going to be thru this set only, but now I see that it will get a normal release. I should wait for $20 prices now. Although I really want to try to play Peter Frampton's solo in Do You Feel Like I Do. That one song may get me to buy this early.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

In case anyone missed it, there is a deal right now at Best Buy where if you buy either DIRT 2 or NFS Shift for regular price ($60), you can buy the Logitech Driving Force Wireless wheel for PS3 for $20. Since the wheel itself has an MSRP of $99.99 and sells at Best Buy for $79.99, this is a great deal -- the wheel has 900 degree rotation for compatible games and force feedback. It's also available online. Like an idiot, I rushed in to buy it with NFS today only to find that NFS doesn't come out until tomorrow
One word of caution : all my local stores have only about 4 wheels each so don't wait too long.

I bought NFS Shift yesterday with the Wheel. My BB only had 1 wheel when I got there.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I think it's still available online through Saturday with free shipping. It's a great deal. Playing Shift in cockpit view (a MUST) with that wheel is SO intense and immersive -- especially when you hit a wall, get a jolt through your arms and the screen goes all fuzzy for a second. I highly recommend biting the bullet and getting this if you like "forgiving" Sim-based racers. Not nearly as many cars as Forza or GT, but still a good variety and loads of fun (I've always been impressed with Gran Tourismo, but let's be honest : It's never been much fun.

Gratuitous cockpit view trailer:

Not sure if this was posted, but I just picked up the resistance 2 CE at TRU for 29.99. It is on clearance, the normal version was 59.99.

Cross-posted in 360/XBLA/RB/VGD threads, so apologies for all the duplication, just want it to hit everyone.

I got this from SD, but I'm sure it came from CAG in the first place. Dell has 4,000 MS points for $40, shipped (20% off):
