Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

FYI the Target buy 2 get 1 free sale that ends today has the standard Target return policy where they separate out the discount evenly. This means that if you're so inclined you can get one item for 33% off if you buy three and then return two later. I didn't really want to cough up $70 for the Skylander system that my boy is begging for. I just bought three for $140+ tax. Will later return two of them and keep one for a net cost of $48 + tax. Not bad if you only want one of a higher price item. Deal good on games up to $79.99.

That deal should work for Rocksmith as well assuming they have three copies in stock.

Yeah, I was going to post that earlier, but I don't even see the point anymore.

As reported in CAG, the Wal-Mart BF deals have been posted on their website, and many of them are HOT! Of course, not sure it's worth facing a Wal-Mart BF crowd, but perhaps it is.

Show up Thanksgiving night @ 10:30-11 and you can probably snag that PS3 160 GB w/ Ratchet and LBP2 SE @ $200. The electronic deals start at midnight, but others at 10 PM. Might be worth it if you can go to a less frequented walmart. The other option is to stay at home and hope that amazon matchs and doesn't sell out in 30 seconds.

Those game deal are brutally good. I wonder if Amazon is going to try to compete or just rely on not being WalMart. Which, honestly, is still good enough for me.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Walmart, WTF? Call of Duty 4 is $15? You sold it to me last year on black friday for $10.

Not overly excited about wal-marts game selection this year. I know that they have TONS of great deals on new games, but I'm usually a get it cheap type of gamer because of time constraints. Their 'cheap' list doesn't really float my boat.

I'm sure Target, Frys, Best Buy, and Gamestop will fill the gap though. I love black friday.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

But a PS3 bundle with the new Ratchet and Little Big Planet games for $199. If I didn't have one, that would be stealing.

I am considering braving the Wal-mart midnight hordes to get Arkham City at that price. /shudder Hopefully Target/Best Buy/Amazon will match that price.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

There are some great games in that list but I don't think I would go to Walmart and fight the crowds even if the games were free. On the other hand, if my wife goes thats another story.

I'm hoping I can buy online at Walmart site and pick up in store at a less busy time. I'm interested in Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports 2, possibly Heavy Rain, and Epic Mickey.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

The walmart I went to last year allowed people to walk around and shop before 12. Everyone got everything they needed then stood in the checkout lines waiting for midnight. It was really organized and not horde-ish at all. We walked out of the door at 12:03 and went to the next place.

I know every wal-mart is not like that, but I know that particular wal-mart made an effort to decrease the chaos. Might be worth calling a few beforehand to see what their BF policy is. It'll certainly make the trip worth it.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I'm sure like last year, Amazon will match most of those game prices with their lightning deals. But they don't usually match console bundles because they make their own different bundles (which might be better with no tax and free shipping)

Count me in for Batman Arkham City.
But if I understand the ad correctly, it's 10:00pm Thursday night, not midnight.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Best Buy posted their deals as well. They will have the 250gb 360 holiday bundle (with no Kinect) for $199 and the same Sony bundle as Wal Mart for $199 as well. $29.99 games include Deus Ex, the new X Men game, Gears 3, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, and Need for Speed On The Run. They will also have the new Assassin's Creed game for $34.99

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I'd like to get a kinect for my kids and that Walmart deal looks decent, but they have me tempted to go all the way and just get the full bundle and then try to sell my old one.

I leearned my lesson last year. Amazon will meet or beat any BF prices for Blu-Ray's and games. Who needs lines anyway?
