I am still skeptical. Is that announcement from this VP been on video or put on Blizzards site? If so then I will believe it, but until then it is all just rumors.

It's linked indirectly earlier in this thread, but he told GamesIndustry at the end of a Q&A at GDC Paris:

I assume that they will not make the final reveal until they actually announce it in person in Paris.

It would be silly to reveal it all on the web and then come on stage to announce and announcement that was already announced.

So how far ahead is Paris time? They update the site at midnight PDT, so maybe that's in time for the announcement.

I'm calling it a Starcraft teaser, be it ghost or 2.

The highlighted rune in the 7 o'clock positiion looks like the Protoss logo found here - http://www.starcraft2.com/features/protoss/main.xml

Thanks Joystiq!

According to google it is currently 6:46pm Friday (CEST) - Time in Paris, France. So for me being in central time that is 7 hours ahead. We just have to find out if it is going to be tonight or tomorrow they are going to announce it LIVE in Paris.

Well if DVD182 is right, they are announcing a NEW game, and SC2 has already been announced. Plus I think StarCraft Ghost was just a cover for SC2 in case something got leaked.

If I were a betting man, I would say that staying up really late or waking up really early for those interested would be a good idea.

Say around, 2:45 AM PST.

Yea, according to IGN, if they follow the same pattern as they did last year, they will announce there new game during the opening ceremony.

http://pc.ign.com/articles/884/884310p1.html

"While the event goes on for two days, the real source of interest is the opening ceremony, currently scheduled to take place between 11:45 AM and 1:00 PM in Paris. For our North American audience, that's this Saturday between 2:45 AM PDT and 4:00 AM PDT. Last year's WWI's opening ceremony was when the StarCraft II announcement was made."

Starcraft II has already been announced. Why all the secrecy? It's a little too early to be talking about SCII expansion packs don't you think.

No, they are taking a tip from Radiohead/NIN/Apple and saying the title will be available via digital download starting on July 1st, and in stores the week after. Get excitement up, then release (that's what she said).

If thats true then this will be completely overblown and underwhelming. SC2 has already been announced, there is an official site and everything covering anything you wanted to know about SC2.

The Ghost project was killed wasnt it? And really if its Ghost again, its just yet another FPS in a sea of FPS games already available for consoles. Underwhelming.

They announced SC2 at the same event last year so we know it won't be SC2.

If that is a Protoss, it could be a Starcraft MMO. A long shot but you never know.
