I am wondering if the Blacksmith is going to be worth it or if drops are going to blow it away. It would be nice to have BS actually make some nice end game caliber stuff, but Blizz does not like doing that; or they do but make it nearly impossible to acquire the reagents to do so in their other games.

Re: Diablo III

When you're in the auction, can you see the stat boots you'd get from items like you do when at a merchant?

It's on the character selection screen right after you log in.

Re: Diablo III

I have pumped a lot of money into my blacksmith...I really hope late in the game it starts to pay off because right now if you search you can get better equipment for a LOT less than the blacksmith path. Maybe once you level him up, and you level up the other craftsman you will be able to make a lot of money on the auction house, but right now as long as there are people willing to sell rare loot for 500 to 1000 gold, there is no need.

Re: Diablo III

i'm at level 10 and i think i just finished Act 1. (killed the skeleton king).
I am finding the game to be very easy. Didn't die once and only used about 2 potions.
Does the game get harder?
what happens if you die?

I died once on the Skeleton King only because I wasn't paying attention. When you die, you'll start at the last checkpoint and you'll have everything you picked up. At and after level 10, your items (equipped only?) will lose 10% durability if you die. Before level 10, there's no consequence.

It's weird how a bunch of people aren't sure when Act 1 is done.

Hopefully they fixed it so when you die, especially multiple times, your gear is not dumped on the ground. The first time I quit playing D2 some ass hat portal killed a bunch of us on Diablo and I got my 2 SOJ and other gear ganked. I was also hoping they would implement a WOW type loot distribution, but I have not grouped yet so I have not seen how boss loot is distributed.

I could be wrong but it is my understanding that all the loot you see dropped in co-op is "your" personal loot. So you can take all of it if you want. So you don't have to worry about sharing everything. that is my understanding

That is an improvement over the previous games.

Maybe because the Skeleton King was the end of the beta, everybody is assuming he's the end of the Act as well.

Yes, the first time I was in a co-op game I was thinking should I grab that? Then about that time it came up with a box stating what I see is my personal loot, makes it so much nicer than people jacking all the health/mana potions.

That is nice, I hated being a Wizard and every other class grabbing all the mana pots.

Re: Diablo III

when you play a public game, it just dumps you into a game.
Is there a way to control which public game to join? i.e. i want to join a game with more than 4 people?
The bosses respawn in a public game?
If someone killed the boss and i haven't yet, will it respawn?

Re: Diablo III

4 people is the max that can be in any game.

When you join a public game, pick the quest you want to do. If you want to kill a boss, choose the appropriate quest and it will find an open game where people are going after that boss.

If somebody rushes ahead to the boss before you can get over to it, you'll get a pop-up offering to port you in so you don't miss out on the action.

Is this only if you are in a party with the other people in game?
