Just turned 27 here. I definitely don't feel like I imagine a 27 year old should.

I'm fully haired, minor grey but it makes me look like George Clooney, and the ladies fucking love it.

No Best Buy midnight launch near me, so I'm still planning on hitting Target before work (around 8-9 ish). There's like 4 Targets in the area, so I'd hope i'm ok

I finally got around to buying an Xbox 360 (Amazon's $30 discount with GTA IV was too good to pass up) so I've been nervously refreshing the UPS tracking page for my order to make sure everything gets here tomorrow like its supposed to.

I just saw this on another forum. Pretty great story...
I just got back from Best Buy. The line was huge! I'd say about 100 people were there, probably less, but it looked bigger as I drove by. I could hear them screaming and yelling, and I got more excited. I parked, got out, waited in line...
This guy randomly started talking to me. He was like "what are you gonna do when you get it?" At first I didn't even know he was talking to me. Yeah, it was pretty awkward. I told him I was gonna "drive around and sh*t." He went into this big detail about everything he was gonna do. "I'm gonna first play multiplayer with this clan I joined. then I'm gonna play single player for the rest of the night." This guy was behind me the whole time and he WOULDNT SHUT THE FCK UP!!! w.e
Aight I waited in line, and finally I got the game. And as I was walking out... this guy THE SAME GUY THAT WAS BEHIND ME f*cking took the game from my hands and started running. Everyone saw it too... they started yelling and one mother screamed something like "hey!! that guy took that kids game!!" and the security chased after him. honestly, I was pissed. but this one kid in the back was laughing. and I heard a bunch of people saying "its only a game." I waited there for about 15 MORE minutes waiting to get my game back. finally, they brought the game back and everyone cheered.
thats basically what happened. if u dont like it then im sorry if i wasted your time. now im gonna play the game now

I wouldn't touch the midnight releases with a 10 foot pole. Best Buy is like 3 miles away, and so are 5 Gamestops, but I'd rather wait. That and Amazon is delivering the CE tomorrow anyway

Funny thing I noticed when I bought GTA4 today (at a mom&pop shop around noon - midnight release is for the birds) there were about 20 people there to buy the game (though for a M&P shop, they moved through them fast), and everyone there, besides me, looked like they had stepped out of a GTA game themselves. Seriously, I'm not trying to be judgmental here, but they were all thug gangster wannabes - it was surreal - I was the only one there who was in clean presentable clothes, shaven and with a proper hair cut that wasn't a dirty mess or a cropped buzz. They all looked like there were trying out for the GTA movie or something. There was also some kid there, looked to be around 14, no parents or guardians, and they refused to sell him the game - major props for that.
Anyways, quick impression after a couple hours of play:
Tough to get used to the controls for the first few minutes - it felt sluggish, especially the cars - I don't care for how they handle and especially how they corner.
Compared to previous GTAs, it seems like the missions in this one are a bit easier, while the free-roaming stuff is tougher. Like, it's much much harder to get away from the cops if you have a couple stars than it was in the other games. It's also tougher to create general mayhem and find weaponry to start shit. I had to beat up a cop, take his gun and shoot more cops - but I was surrounded and gunned down almost immediately. Though the aiming is greatly improved.
So, it's still far too early in the game to have real impressions, but it's pretty much GTA through and through, but with a fresh coat of paint and some adjustments here and there.
