Games that make you laugh
So inspired by the Simpsons game, which might be the funniest game I ever played, what are some other games that make you laugh out loud, or chuckle? Maybe there's a game that is so funny, you die intentionally just to hear the scene again? Maybe there was a game so bad it made you laugh?
Aside from the Simpsons, I can name a few off the top of my head. Psychonauts definitely made me laugh alot, as did Grim Fandango, and Monkey Island. All created by the same people, mind you. My stepdad tells me that Ratchet and Clank is another game that is funny. He says you'll hear these random announcements in the background or see things that just make you laugh. I still have to try the series. Oh and the Raving Rabbids game. That makes me laugh just seeing the bunnies. Any gems I missed? |

Portal is a great recent example.
I also played through the Family Guy game which had its moments.

Freakin' Dead Rising. I laughed like hell when I fired up the lawnmower and plowed some zombies.

Halo 3 MP has some funny moments.
Intentionally funny? Katamari Damacy has some weird quirky humor, but it mostly makes me smile. Last game that made me laugh out loud was Ratchet & Clank Future. I'm playing through it again just so I don't miss the jokes. And unlike the Simpsons game, it doesn't have horrendous gameplay. |

The Pheonix Wright games are pretty funny.
As far as games that are so bad, they're funny, you might want to check out Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. Keep in mind as watch this, this was an actual retail game, released in real stores and cost real money. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mB1zWEhgrLs

I always got a lighthearted chuckle out of the Mario & Luigi games on the GBA and DS.
Rayman Raving Rabbids is probably the best recent humorous game, to me.

Psychonauts is the only game that made me literally laugh out loud. Beyond Good and Evil had some humorous aspects to it, but it wasn't a funny game. Oh and Freedom Force was pretty funny, but that was based on comic book humor.

"Pro Wrestling" on NES always make me laugh. There is no animation between punching someone and them hitting the mat..it's damn hilarious.
I'll also recommend "Destroy All Humans" What the people say in the game is hilarious. Later on in the game there are these U.S. Army robots and I was spotted and hiding behind a wall from one and it blurted out "I've got candy! Everyone likes candy." ![]()

I really have to try Portal now.
Another funnier game was Maniac Mansion, but fumanstan covered that with his LucasArts nod. Evil Genius was another good one. One that wasn't mentioned that I can't believe I forgot was No One Lives Forever. EDIT: Taffer mentioned it, but worth a second mention because it was so funny. |
