Wow, that "catapult farming" tip was great, thanks! I'm up to 7114 experience, $1819 gold (after spending 5k or so), level 17 Wizard. Can you do this an unlimited number of times? DugDog is kicking my behind I had an option to capture the catapult was passed because I was scared if I captured it it wouldn't be there anymore. If there's no limit to how many times you can do this I plan to go all the way to level 50.

You can redo this mission as many times as you can stand to do it.

Well assuming 10 times per level, 32 levels, that's 320 times. 5 times in the morning and 5 times at night for a month and I have a level 50 character

Not to mention that's 60k gold At 700 a pop, that's 85 level points.

Ok I have all 4 Masteries, Battle, and Cunning at 6 and Morale at 16 (except fire which is at 10 so that I could get the Firewalker blade, which was recommended for a Wizard at gamefaqs). I have 81 Skill points to spend. Where should I spend them? Also have $12192 in gold (and am level 39).

For reference, the costs are (#/# first number is skill points per level, second number is gold per level in the citadel)
Earth 2/750
Fire 1/950
Air 1/750
Water 2/750
Battle 3/750
Cunning 2/750
Morale 3/1200

So that has been 21 levels since 10/18 AM. I'll be level 50 within a week Just...11...more...levels...

Each of the 7 areas (4 + cunning + battle + Morale) can go up to 255 But only do it until 200 or so because some quests give you levels on those areas and if you go over it goes back down to 0.

I also got this really cool accessory that gives me a 50% chance of creating a skull at the beginning of each of my rounds. I'm having lots of fun with that.

Post here cool stuff you've bought.

Circlet of Skulls = 50% chance of generating a random skull at the beginning of each fo your turns.

Ultimate Troll Ring = Adds + 3 to Life Points if Blue Mana is 12+ at the start of each of your turns.

I think I got my $15 worth.

To show how cool the combination of circle of skulls and ultimate troll ring is, I just finished a fight with a catapult. All levels are at 6 except morale at 16 and fire at 10, and at the end of the round I'm at 144/144 life points and the catapult is at 0/116. And that's saving up my points, once I finally spend them all and level carefully, my wizard's going to be a powerhouse

I am currently a lvl 28 warrior and almost took down a lvl 49 Wizard last night. Had him down to about 20 HP when I died.

A great accessory I have is a troll ring (I think). It has a 20% change to do 13+ more damage

I haven't gotten too fancy with items yet...
When you craft something using runes, do you lose the runes?
I don't like the capture battles, and I have not successfully Sieged yet, but I haven't tried in a couple days.
I have a basic Troll Ring and the Mirror Shield, those are handy, though I certainly wouldn't mind the upgraded versions. My wizard is level 17 I think. The green-to-skull and yellow-to-red spell is pretty cool, but if you time it wrong, you won't get a 4inarow and then the opponent gets to clean up.
The catapult thing definitely helps, though I'm still advancing in the quest as well. I have mostly been bumping up Fire and Air, with a couple Morale points to increase hitpoints.
I've only managed to play one match online, and it wasn't ranked. Maybe I'm playing at the wrong times.

If you advance on the quest, does the catapult thing ever go away? Can someone who's a lot further than Dugog confirm the Catapult quest is still at Drakenburg?

Green, Yellow, Blue, Cunning, Battle at level 6, Fire level 10, Morale level 16. 85 points to spend. $13517 gold. At my citadel Fire is $950, Morale is $1200, and everything else is $750. Level 40.

That spell is called Flaming Skulls. You might want to up yellow as well as a lot of the wizard spells use yellow. The capture battles are easy once you realize the answers are at gamefaqs.com

Almost taking down someone almost 20 levels higher shows the importance of careful leveling. You have to play to the classes' strength. And of course there's always luck

Well I stopped the catapult thingie. I couldn't take it anymore.

I battled an ogre, we both had 163 life points. At the end of the battle, I still had 163, he had 0. I had 24 gree, 61 red, 23 yellow, 29 blue. I do about 13 points of damage per 3 regular skulls.

Level 41.
Earth: 6
Fire: 99
Air: 14
Water: 6
Battle: 7
Cunning: 6
Morale: 21

Firewalker's Staff does an extra point of damage per every 8 of your red mana whenever you do 3 or more damage (which if pretty much all the time). Level 99 on Fire means I can hold more, and it fills up more quickly. I.e. 61 Red + the 13 I usually do on skulls means that 3 regular skulls do about 20 in damage. And remember the random skull generator at the beginning of each of my turns.

About to go face off against Dugog

Dugog wasn't the piece of cake I thought he was going to be, but I ended up 114/163 and he ended up 0/119.

My levels were 28 G, 75 R, 15 Y, 13 B, and his were 26G, 30 R, 27 Y, 26 B.

I guess I was expecting more of an easier time. Slave's caravan: Ended up 152/163.

I'm at the third of the four ogres. Can't wait to see if the monsters are not the piece of cake I thought because they're at my same level (this current ogre is level 41) or if my character really IS weak. So I can't wait to see if I kick regular people's behinds

Yes, I sent you an email, thanks!

Third ogre, 145/164 at the end (a level 41 ogre). So I don't know if I was expecting too much. 1 ogre to go. This one gave me 356 experience

Nothing beats the Great Axe in Puzzle Quest. 50% chance of an extra turn when dealing 4+ damage.

Hmmm... going to try the Great Axe.. 50% chance of an extra turn whenever you do 5+ damage (pretty much anything) or the Firewalker's Staff +1 of damage for every 8 mana whenever I do 3 or more damage... choices choices.

If you could STACK weapons...

Wait a minute, you're just now fighting Dugog at level 40 and it's tough? How far after you first hear about him do you fight him? I just started the caravan quest, so either I'm going too fast through the game and will get stomped, the bosses level as the player does, or I don't actually meet him for a while.

Other than 4+ of a kind, I got an extra turn ONCE with the Great Axe. Firewalker's staff it is.

Well, the enemies level up with you So he must have been a level 40'ish, because the ogres I fought after him (the 4 ogre quest) were all level 41 I believe (at least 1 for sure), same as me.

I did the catapult all the way to level 41, so 23 levels.

What's the most damage you've ever done in one move? (not one turn, one move). Mine is 51 with a blazing skulls spell.

BTW don't know if everyone knows this... Cunning decides who goes first.

PQ:

So I'm just waltzing through single player (level 46) but I get my behind handed to me in multiplayer

So where's everybody at? I'm at the point where
Spoiler:
the ogre that eats a lot joins my party
. Have about 4-5 mounts and 6-7 captured monsters.

You've got some bad luck for a fellow Las Vegan. I get the extra turn about 50% of the time. Are you sure you actually equipted it?

--------------------------

I'm pondering Lumines Live. I have the two PSP games already and love them. This one was a no-go at 1200, but now that it's 800, I'd jump on it but I've heard it's only a half game requiring multiple microtransactions for full functionality. If that's true, I'm not so interested. Is the stand alone game good enough to get by with?

BTW : I noticed that the game is rated E10 for "Suggestive themes". I wonder what those are? Maybe when one block falls on another of the same color and they fuse together?

On PQ, I have something that gives you back 2 life points every time you do a +4 damage to someone. Saved me quite a few times. Forget what it was called though. I'm at Level 24 and just got into the new region after going to the Dragon's castle. I love this game.

So is this the XBLA thread, or the Puzzle Quest thread?

Is Galactica the only release this week?
