My laptop, even though purchased in March, I doubt would be able to run the game. So, with that and having to pay to play, it has kept me away from this game.

And I like reading this to see whats up, just as miyu posted. I can live vicariously through you all.

Canis your machine would easily play WOW.

Beandip there is no way in hell I'm buying this game or trying any free trials. You live two blocks away from me and I haven't seen you in months; it's a sickness dude.

My graphics card in the laptop is 128 megs, but I can't recall what type it is. I thought WoW had pretty high system spec requirements?

Besides, If I keep telling myself that my laptop can't run it, I won't be tempted to try the trial and get sucked into the game.

WoW actually has pretty low system requirements.

See.. you can tell the game is electric crack. They are coming out of the woodwork trying to get a new player addicted.

I'm also sure the fact that if they sign you up for a trial and you buy the game they get a free month has something to do with it too

The dog never attacked me and i didnt even have a note in the combat log about taking damage.

we're on the alliance side and the first two bosses (luci and mags) dropped Shamen gear. The 3rd boss, gehannas, didnt drop anything. Garr dropped normal stuff. We put in a ticket for the Gehannas loot but it will likely just be shaman gear.

We lost about half the raid on each boss and we usually only end up with 1 or 2 dead at the end. Something other than addons was changed.
How funny. My guild had the same problem, except it was Pally gear that dropped.

Dont like how they made all the GM gear super easy to get. I mean the epic FM armor gear and GM weapons kinda makes my BWL/AQ tier 2/2.5 gear that i spent time getting kinda pointless lol since the stats of the armor is almost up to par with T2 gear and the weapons are just as good as rare drops in AQ40/BWL, but oh well. Funny cuz you see guys running around in greens and sporting a GM sword lol

Well, you should be happy with today's nerfs then. You now gain 30% less honor than you did last week for everything.

Yeah, things were seriously hosed this week. Was doing AV last night and people were frozen in place, dead but running around, couldn't AFK out, all kinds of crazy bugs. Had to eventually Alt-F4 to get out of the game.

Can anyone help me find an addon? I used to use Cosmos, which had a ton of addons with it. But with the 2.0 patch, none of that works anymore, and the alpha version of Cosmos doesn't have a bunch of stuff, and it's really flakey.

So I'm looking for individual addons that I really liked, to see if they have 2.0 updates or not.

The first was some kind of item information thing. When you hovered over an item, it told you way more stuff about the item, who uses it, what it's for, how much it's worth... and if you click on one of those [TheButcher] type links, it also displays a picture of the item.

The second is some kind of mapping utility, that put a bar across the top of the screen, so you could easily access any maps. You could just hover your mouse over a button, and the map would show up transparently, and then disappear when you moved the mouse.

The item information addon you're talking about might be Informat. I had it before the patch and have not found an update for it yet. it was great for the ZG set piece drops since they never say things like "bracer" in the title.

i dont know what the mapping one is

Thanks, you're probably right about informat... that sounds vaguely familiar. I figured out the map one... it's called Alphamap. It's updated for 2.0, and is pretty darn swell. Check it out!

moved up to lvl 54 with 55 just a few exp away
I ended up leaving my guild today after never getting any help or anyone ever running together. I accepted an invite into a much larger guild with over 300 members.

I figure I will need the help to do endgame quests/dungeons.

Im over on Draenor so i wont be able to help. having a good guild makes all the difference once you hit 60. it took me a year and a half to find a great guild but it brought a ton of new life to the game.

Having a good guild is paramount to progression in this game, there is no doubt about that.

Just a couple thoughts though:

With the expansion coming out watch out for guilds that used to be full 40 man raid guilds doing 25 mans and leaving people out...this is going to be a problem and crack guilds in two in my opinion. Imagine a large guild putting 25 on the front burner and 25 in the 2nd squad so to speak. This is inevitably going to lead to new high end guilds being formed.

After the expansion....I can't imaging much raiding will be happening for the first few weeks as everyone will be leveling in parties. I know I will..5 man parties.

I don't plan on too many raids til I'm at least 65. I know for certain there are officers in the guild I'm in that are going to be left behind and be asking for MC runs at level 60-61 when the rest of us are 64-65. Many have stopped playing unless there is a MC/BWL run and I'm sick of it. Just my opinion of course.

I finally got my T2 headpiece last night from Ony...in a guild run with NO officers from my guild...because they all have their T2 headpieces from Ony and are sick of running her...and don't need anything...yet they want us all to run BWL to get more gear for them. It gets old.

I'm in a good guild, not a great guild...and I'll be the first to admit it. I have a feeling the officers in my guild are in for a wake up come Jan 16th...because the expansion does one important thing:

It puts everyone who has a 60 back on the same page...Everyone is equal again..going for the same new gear.

Simply put. Good luck with the expansion everyone...I'll be there:

Mark

60 Warlock
5300 base life (pre-buffs)
+434 Shadow Damage
42/9/0 specc'ed "Go Affliction! "

56 Mage
+ 145 Frost Damage ( and climbing )

It's not uncommon to see endgame Warlocks with more HP than mana.
