Re: Dead Rising for 360?
Get the food books first, and get the chainsaw as early as possible, with the books also. You will never need another weapon the entire game if you don't kill un-necessarily. That'll be 4 slots for chain & books, and use the rest for food and food books. If you don't plan on lots of killin', you could probably get by with one or two chain books instead of all three.
Have a definite plan on what you're going to do and where you're going to go after camping sessions (Know where your next meal is coming from).
Don't engage unless you have to on 'regular' zombies, and kill the characters only if you have slots open and a place to hide out.
Use the empty store next to the hardware store in North Plaza. It's a great place for when you need to pee, eat, etc... The doors lock, so you don't have any worries, but know where you're going next.
This may sound far-fetched, but if you have an egg-timer, use it. Start the timer when you first pump up your health to 100% and see how long it takes to get to the last life block. Set your timer every time you eat food. I almost died a couple times sitting right next to the 360 while I typed away on the computer. You could also nap with the timer if you trust it enough...I started at midnight or so, and this is one thing that I thought of after the fact.
Be smart, and more importantly, be patient. Good luck.

I didn't even get a chance to attempt it. I worked all weekend fixing shitty code that our off-shore team turned in. I give you a requirements document and test scripts for a reason, fucking look at them...
Hopefully this weekend, but I did get Batman, so...

Re: Dead Rising for 360?
Kids and wife are away for the weekend, so it seems like the right time to try this. Though it pains me to put Batman on hold for 2 days, I must.
I've moved the xbox and my daughter's 19" LCD to the office and and going to keep myself occupied with running test scripts for the crap that kept me off the attempt last weekend.
Hopefully I can get a decent chunk of the 7 days done today and pick up the slack tomorrow.

Re: Dead Rising for 360?
Quick question - When you're down to 1 block of life and the bar is winding down, are you dead when the bar goes out or do you lose the last block and get 1 more bar with 0 blocks of life left?
I'm thinking the latter is the obviously correct answer, but I don't want to "waste" a full heal if I could wait a bit longer.

If there isn't any yellow showing, you're dead. Try to heal up with just a bit of yellow left in your last block.

Well, my first attempt ended right at 24 hours with Sniper-Carlito in the Entrance Plaza. I got a little cocky and went in there with little health and he one-shotted me.
I'm currently at 15.5 hours on my second attempt and can't wait to get back and mess him up proper

Obviously if you touch anything after you hit X to eat something, you're risking running out of health before the controller has been idle for 15 minutes.
Approaching 60 hours of L-I-V-I-N. So far, so good

Re: Dead Rising for 360?
I think the difference might be me carrying 2 chainsaws & 5 or 6 books. Now that I think about it, I only had 4 or 5 slots for food, so my time was probably shorter than it needed to be.

End of Day #4. I think when the 5-day achievement pops at 11pm, I'll catch a 2nd wind and want to just knock out the final 4 (real-time) hours.
Sure makes me wish I didn't waste the first 2 hours on that botched attempt

I can honestly say I won't be trying that again since I got 1 of the 2. The last one is just going to have to taunt the completionist in me.

Hey pinata, did you save the game to your hard drive before playing? That would probably end the freezing issue. If I try it again, which I don't see happening with Batman, CoD Zombies, and Magic going on right now, I'm definitely putting it on my drive.

Re: Dead Rising for 360?
Yeah, everything I play is on the hard drive. I think I am going to try again starting tonight, as I work tomorrow, and finish off after the girls go to bed tomorrow night.
I just won't go in that room at that time.

I had another outage over the weekend which is what brought this to mind.
Also,
