What to play next?
Now that I've got through DQ8 and KH2 and the PS2 has been comfortably retired for the foreseeable future, it is time for me to get back to my queue.
I've narrowed my list down to 3: Beyond Good & Evil (Xbox) Haven't fired this one up yet, but I know I'll enjoy it and I hear it is relatively short. Eternal Darkness I started playing this a while back but I can't remember why I stopped. Something must've came up and I just never got back to it. Price of Persia: WW (and then Two Thrones) (Xbox) Really enjoyed SoT, but I tried this once and just couldn't get into it. I need to go through it so I can get to the 3rd which I hear is great again. With E3 and the future coming, I need to make sure I clear my slate before I never have time to look back. |

Ooooh BG&E vs. Eternal Darkness. That is a match up. I passed on PoP:WW due to all the negative reactions. The first was brilliant though.
I'm going to give BG&E the edge. It is close though, ED is a killer game(played it through twice so far).

That is a really hard choice. I would give my nod to ED. BG&E was a great game but there was something about ED that made it amazing.

Eternal Darkness. It's by far the best of those. I liked BG&E, but thought it was overhyped and just a simplified Zelda gameplay wise (few items or attacks), with a better story.

Wow. I thought it was going to be a landslide BG&E victory. Thanks for all your comments, even if we're all tied up and I'm basically back to square one

Judging by your username, I say wait a couple of months, snag a 360, then get ready for Viva Piρata!

Well, it if it helps BG&E is pretty short (10-12 hours) and ED will take you 35 or so if you play through it all three paths to get the real ending.

Eternal Darkness, I've been hankering to play this one again myself since I've been playing Oblivion (both have have heavy Lovecraft influences).

Hmmm... Would doing the first "path" in ED lend itself to a breaking point to do BG&E in the interim, or would I want to do all 3 back-to-back?

Depends on how well you can retain the storyline
I'd say that breaking it up would be ok. I do that with almost all my games, bounce between them. Even when reading I tend to have a couple on the go (yes even when working on my graduate degree).

I would recommend beating one ending of ED then playing BG&E and go back to ED for the other endings. Man i wish i could play ED again for the first first time.

That is a good point about the three paths of ED. Go with one of those, then do BG&E and if you liked ED enough you can always go back for another helping.
I only got through twice back to back and that was pushing it. I couldn't imagine sitting through it three times in a row. That is one I hung onto though, I should go back and play that last one.

Eternal Darkness is one of the best videogames of all time.
I played it through all 3 paths, and I almost never re-play games once I've finished them. |

I can't speak on PoP:WW, but otherwise you have a great problem on your hand. But I always side with BG&E. Take that Pokemon Snap!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I'm going to go with 1/3 of ED and then BG&E before finishing ED off. Now that I write it, I really don't like saying I'm going to enjoy ED. I'm sure the wife wouldn't either...
Anyway, I got home and realized I left Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance off the list. Think I'm going to wedge that one in before the PoPs. Thanks everyone. |
