I got this game 4 days after getting Metroid Hunters, I have not been able to stop playing the damn thing and get back to Metroid. My wife comes home from work and tells me to turn it on so we can play. I just hate when people drop out of the middle of the game though. It happened three times today.

Anyone able to figure out how the damn scoring system works? I'm up in the 6700-7000 point area and I would get 9 points for a win, and I have lost 115 points with one loss.
Needless to say, one of those losses, I slammed my DS and apparently broke one of the hinges. I'm hoping it'll last me through the launch of the DS Lite. No luck trying to import that sucker yet.

You get rewarded more for beating higher-ranked players and hurt more for losing to lower-ranked players. Playing people comparable to your level results in more reasonable points awarded/deducted. Unfortunately, you have no control over who you get paired up with and as you rise in the ranks, you set yourself up for harder falls. That's just the way it is.
4-player mode can really hurt if 3 lower players gang up on you.

Ugh. I just beat some guy 12 times in a row, maybe racking up 150 point. I lose the 13th game and lost over 120 points. Talk about wanting to throw the DS against the wall (but that probably won't happen seeing as how I already broke the hinge the other day and taking a 115 point hit on one loss)/

I think the fastest way to rank up, though it's a bit risky, is by doing the 4 player mode. Those specials really change the way the game is played. I know I beat 3 players, all higher than me, one at 7000+. Of course, someone disconnected after I won. Sure helps having that star!
Tho i really got humbled playing Mewtwo, he's # 2 in the 4 star rankings. I think I played him 13 times in a row and lost each time. Thankfully, only about 80 points were taken off my score. He's a machine I tell you!
