Actually, I hate Burnout. Test Drive: Eve of Destruction is a great game, and would fit your needs.

Funny, I just read the review on ign, and they gave it a 6.5. But I have to say that this might be the game she's been looking for. Not only that, I bet I can find it cheap.

It is not a perfect game. It has some problems. That said, it's fun, and has a pretty good career mode that is more in-depth than most of these types of games. It was only $30 new, so you should be able to find it for around $10 used now.

It's also a GREAT party game.
