Anyone playing Phantom Dust?
Just curious if anyone has picked up this game. It's only 20$ and live playable and damn is it good. It is a collectible card game in the guise of real-time combat. You play real time matches with your arsenal (deck) of skills you have gotten in the single player game or by beating people online. It has tons of counters, defenses, offenses, etc. Awesome game so far and i haven't even touched the online play. There are like 300 abilities offline and another 40 available only by winning matches online.
So anyone else picked up this addiction?

Also, i found a pretty cool website that has some forums for the game and has some people organizing online tournaments and includes some betting on other forum member matches. Looks pretty cool and once i beat the single player game to unlock most of the skills i can start on the online only skills

So how do the online matches work? If you win, do you get a card from your opponent, or do you just get one of the 40 online-only cards randomly?

DSVII's been getting some horrid reviews, right?
Is Phantom Dust limited to mall game stores or something? I haven't seen it at all at Best buy (which isn't too surprising) but I also haven't seen it at Fry's, which seems to carry most obscure games.
Edited:
Never mind, found it at (of all places) Toys R Us...

I picked this up last week, but didn't get around to playing with it until last night. It's going to take a little getting used to the controls, as I've got Halo Trigger finger going and I keep locking on and off targets too quick...but so far, this game is incredible. I can't say enough about the controls and concept. For $20, this sucker could be the "bang for your buck" buy of the year...

I haven't played for too long yet -- offline only. Do you not have the ability to build a "deck" until you go offline or does that ability become available in single player as well?
I'm on the Peccatto level (highway/freia related). I don't have too much trouble taking out the first part of the boss with Spear/Bomb combos, but once I've done that, I have very little success hitting the second part and wind up getting killed pretty quickly by various boss combos -- rapid fire shot hits so quickly that it's hard to defend and you can only run so far.
Any tips?
I also picked up DSIV at EB today for 14.99. Read some good reviews earlier (oxm I think). For that price it should be interesting given my line of work.

Also, a tip it took me a while to figure out. If you replay missions in the simulator you get the credit reward again... this is helpful when saving up to buy new skills or junk.

*rofl* Sheesh guys, who else are you going to have to waste a full 8 sniper rounds and still not kill someone. I mean i speed up the rate that thing reloads on the board by using up the shots
But on topic: We ought to get a few people who are playing PD on at a scheduled time. We can play "quick" games online that don't require you to make an arsenal. You are just given an already pre-made one. This lets you play with rare skills you won't get till much later in the game, plus everyone is on a little more even footing.

xmiyux let me know when you want to start playing the quick matches. I'm currently going through the single player game, and my friend and I have played, but so far, our arsenals suck.
Send me a friend request, and we can hook up at some point.
My Gamertag is: Billbofet
