Can you drink the water during combat? (PoP: Sands of Time Help!!)

for Gamecube, if that matters...

I want to replenish health by drinking water when I am surrounded by enemies. Everytime I try in a perfectly valid watering hole I cannot use R button to drink. Is this supposed to be? Why would there be water if no possibilty to replenish. Please help. Thanks in advance.

You can do it!

Try running around for a bit then go for that sip of ice cold refresing water. I just discovered towards the end that you can keep pressing the R button to keep sipping. Yeah I know duh.

Yes, you can drink water while in a fight.
Only problem is if there are enemies nearby, pressing R will block or something ( i forget what exactly)
so like zerotl said, run around to get away from them then head straight for the watering hole.

Good luck

Yes you can. I believe you can press a button to exit from combat mode and drink but sometimes it is better to try and lure the enemies away from the water hole so they do not strike you while you are drinking, which will happen a lot. Don't go to far or they will warp to where you are.

What he said. There's a delicate balance to find between getting far enough away from the monsters so that you can get a sip of water in without getting hit, but not so far that they teleport close to you.

If you're feeling a little crowded by them, and need some more time to get more water (and have the sand to spare), you can just hit them with your dagger to freeze them, then you'll have plenty of time to drink.
