Xbox live help
I need some help with Xbox live. I was thinking of getting it but my Xbox is in my room which is on the opposite side of my house away from my connection. What would be the best solution to get Xbox live connected or should I just give up and try bobsledding.

Get a wireless router and use something like a linksys wet11 to hook it up.

As mentioned wireless. Or go my route and use a 50 foot ethernet cord (or it may be 100 feet?). I only hook it up when I play and then wrap it up when I am done. No big deal.

Hooking up and unhooking the cable got old to me real quick.
I just ran a 50ft. cable under the house and bought a linksys 41 router. A friend of mine just bought one at Radio Shack for less than $50

There is a very inexpensive wireless router package from Costco. It comes with all you'll need to connect the router both to your computer and your Xbox. I know it was a good deal, but I can't remember exactly. I think it was about $75. When I found it, I was kicking myself for spending $50 on a regular router and then a bunch more on fixtures and cables to run it through my wall to my TV room on the other side.

I too was running a long piece of cabel for some time. It was an awful solution and caused me to move my desk real fast.
Bought a wired router posted in the Hot Deals forum for about 20.00 and have everything hooked up, minus my GC.

I've been told by everyone I ask that if I hook up my PS2 to the DSL line and just disconnect the DSL from my computer when I want to play PS2 online that would be fine.
Is it the same deal for XBox Live? |
