Recall of Enter the Matrix?

Has anybody else heard anything about a possible recall of Enter the Matrix due to the bugs found in the game? All I've read is that there are some glitches with the game(echo during cutscenes, bad textures/shading, etc.). I have experienced some glitches, but nothing major to take away from the game, but if Atari is going to put out a fix for PS2(for XBox I believe you can just patch it) I'd like to get a fixed copy. Any info anyone?

Havent heard anything. A console game has to have a major flaw/bug that would make the game unplayable for a recall to happen. And if bad texturing were to be considered grounds for a recall, 90% of all games would have to be recalled haha.

The PC version is very poorly made. Definitely needs a whole lot of patching.

Recall of the PC version? Then why even bother releasing patches if they're gonna recall it?

Actually, I have yet to run into any problems with the PC version. Is this hardware related probs? I run it on a P4 2.1GHz, AIW ATI Radeon 9700 pro, and SB Audigy 2. Just fine and dandy for me.

Complaints I would have with the game would be releasing the game with an EAX HD option, but not having it ready by release. Grr, I was pulling out my hair wondering why the option was greyed out. But they just released a patch that enables it.

Another complaint, which has not been fixed yet, and the piss poor 1st person aiming mode. OK, who were the game testers that allowed this to pass? It's gotta be the most jumpy poor mouse control ever.. makes you think that there's something wrong with your mouse. Sniping is almost like hell.

How is the game in general, I might pick it up. How long does it last, what's the replay value?

I experienced one glitch in my game so far: (This is for the XBOX version)

On the Airport level where you have to snipe out the front wheel of the jet, parts of the horizon and the actual jet itself were black, like it was missing the polygons. The plane finally appeared just as it took off and I failed that mission of course It's only happened one time to me though. Can't report any other glitches...

Buggy is not the word to describe this game. It's like they released a beta version. There are echoes in some of the cutscenes, the camera goes hay-wire in close quarters, the game has crashed my PS2 several times prompting a restart, the graphics will "fall apart" and show seams on occasion.

Back to the store it goes. A shame really because I had fun for about 7 minutes.

The only "bug" I've experienced is echos once on my PS2. (I thought it was some effect they were going for.) Didn't bother me at all and the rest of the game has been top notch.

They're not bugs...

They're glitches in the Matrix.

(OK, ok, they're bugs.)

I'm sure they had tons of pressure to get this game out in time for the movie release. If there's bugs/glitches you can probably blame it on that. I played the XBOX version for a few hours and had one freeze-up, other than that no problems (except for the models, but that's just my opinion.)

My GCN version just locked during a load screen. Said "alloc" and a bunch of numbers. It was near the beginning of the second disk.

So I guess there's no recall. Figures. This thing sounds like it has more bugs than Devil May Cry 2. 50 bucks just to see the additional story cut scenes... bah.

I rented this for Xbox and noticed some strange vertical striping effect when playing it in 1080i mode. To explain better, there are vertical stripes in the picture that slowly move from left to right (I think they move). The stripes just look lighter than the rest of the image. When I switched my console settings to NO 1080i then the picture looked perfect.

I have to say that this game looks cool but isn't all that great. It is irritating to have it VERY simple to walk right through levels and then spend countless tries against a boss that force you to do a portion of the game before the boss over and over. For example you might have to run and jump two buildings and then climb 3 rails to get to where the boss is and then you get killed. I wish you would start right where you face the boss.

What I'm going to do is use the FMV code on gamefaqs to watch all the additional scenes and then return the game tomorrow. I don't have the patience to play through this turd.

im almost done playing the GC version with Niobe. Not a single glitch or lockup yet. Seems as though the PC/XBOX/PS2 versions are the worst ones.

I've beaten the game and only had 1 glitch. During the end of a loading screen the first frame from the level got mixed in with the code on the loading screen. Stayed that way for a a bit but it corrected itself.

Zero glitches so far. no freezing. on my XBOX

and i beat that part with the sniping the plane, it looked fine to me. Just wished you could zoom in more.

I am on the driving part right now. The game is OK but not revolutionary. it is annoying where the save points are.

So is there gonna be a recall or not? I was planning on trading Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 and Metal Gear Solid 2 for this game tomorrow (that is if EB still has that offer for this game) but if it's really that glitchy and going to be recalled.... Anybody know?

I'll wait about 6 months until the price comes way down for the PC version and there are some patches available.

My advice to anyone on the fence:
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!

"Vote" with your $$ and maybe crap like this wont be made again in the future. Although with a million copies already sold, I'm sure they're readying a craptacular sequel. The simple fact is that the game is not fun. Maybe if it was fun and had the glitches then that would be forgivable, but lock-ups and clipping while trying to get past a section just to see additional movie footage is not my idea of a good time. Bought it, played for 5 days, returned it.
