Can you still use a Dreamcast for basic Web access?

Just wondering if you could use your own ISP even though Dreamcast is obviously no longer a current platform.

I believe so, back in December or January, I was messing around with the DC to see if Unreal was still online and I was able to access the web using my isp (MSN).

Yep, no reason you couldn't use your own IP to surf the net. Sega has nothing to do with that, it's just like using a computer.

Hmm...it seems that the 3.0 version of the Planetweb browser goes for like 50 bucks on ebay, I wonder if there's a better way to get it.

When it came out you could buy it for $19.99 from PlanetWeb's website, but it's no longer available there.

Do you think a burned copy would work? I don't know much about the Dreamcast, but paying 20 or 30 bucks for a Dreamcast on ebay seems like the cheapest way to get a "webtv-like" device.

The Planetweb browser 3.0 had broadband adapter support. That would be the best way. BTW, it can be found on the net...or so I've heard...
