or

Wouldn't that just be a "gen" system?

I might jump in for Dreamcast, only if I can find some cheap good games for it. Any suggestion, where I can find good RPG games.

Most plays have discounted their games. EB has Shenmue for $7.99, check TRU also.

I agree with Gideon about looking at Shenmue. It's a very sweet game. I am possibly looking at even getting an import of the sequel since I don't have an X-box.

Well actually the Dreamcast was a "Next-Gen" system.

Has anybody ever bought pre-owned hardware from EB? What condition is it usually in? Do they only buy excellent condition stuff or will it vary?

I stand (or sit) corrected. Dreamcast is a Next Gen. Seems so long ago, I forgot. Thanks Steve.

As for buying pre-owned systems: I recommend taking everything out of the box and inspecting each item before buying it. You may find something you don't like (ie, food stains).

Although I have not had experience selling systems to stores, a friend told me EB bought his (or a friend of his) system even though there was something wrong with it. He didn't specify what was wrong so I can't say if it was minor or major.

Gamestop is also selling 3 diff conditions when related to systems. New, Refurbished or Used. Not sure if they actually tested used systems. If you buy, make sure it's at least refurbished, kind of skeptical about used systems.

Hope this helped.

Skies of Arcadia is also a good one to pick up. Should be around $8-12.

Grandia 2, Record of Lodoss War, Phantasy Star II (on the Smashpack Disc), Phantasy Star On-line (Can't get on-line anymore but you can still play it alone.

Resident Evil Style: Blue Stinger, Carrier, Resident Evil: Code Veronica

Can get some cheap at TRU for new.

Used, try EB, Gamestop (Funco), gexpress.com, cduniverse.com

How is Record of Lodoss War? I've heard of the anime, but never really watched it past ep. 1.

BTW - Grandia 2 is a MUST buy - simply the best RPG I have ever had the pleasure of playing - it's the only game that was so damn good, I didn't care if I accidentally erased my game (which I never did, but I did start over after I was 1/2 way through)

Gideon68 - Don't forget the RE2 and RE3 remakes for the DC. And the DC got the best version of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.

Chaos - Record of Lodoss War is a good Diablo clone. I have it, haven't played it yet , but it got great reviews and has been recognized as one of the best action RPGs to come out for a console.

Do I even have to mention Soul Calibur?

Anyone have more info on the free used Dreamcast system when trading in two games? The local EB guys didn't know anything about this.

The flyer was on the counter of the EB in San Bruno, Tanforan Mall just outside of SF. Here's the phone # of the store if you want to verify: 650-794-0994.

Boxes and instructions must be included with the game. Some games are excluded. PSOne mini is excluded.

It's on a separate flyer than the "January Pre-Owned Clearance" flyer. The "Pre-Owned Clearance Flyer" has a coupon to purchase the systems for $29.99.

The free system for 2 games may be restricted to this store as it is closing.

I hated Diablo but loved ROLW. I played nearly every available moment after I started until I beat it.

HMMMMMMM Tempting. What are some available must have games. I would say that the genre I would be interested would be arcade style games, puzzle games and something for younger audiences like 6 -10 girls. I have an XBOX already but would get this for another room in my house.

Any other good games that are dreamcast only worth getting would be also appreciated.

Aren't Rez and Headhunter import games for the Dreamcast?
