That thing looks pretty awkward to hold. It's probably not very comfortable for marathon gaming.

Will everyone drop the pricedrop already...

As for me, I'll keep my GBA and wait for the GBA Player for the GCN.

But I do like the idea of the new design... it'll fit in my wife's purse!

GBA-SP or GBA-Afterburner. They'll both be close to the same price. I was planning on getting a new one, since my GBA broke over the holidays.

It's gonna be a hard call.

If I really needed back-lit, I'd go with Afterburner. However.. I have not seen one in person, which I usually like to do before I drop mad bling. And now that this announcement has been made, I myself will be happy with my current pink GBA for 3 more months. When I get the chance to the new one, I'll decide. Buuut, it's going to be hard to get me to ignore how perfect the current models design is. This new one looks like some trendy fashionable japanese crap. But I'll reserve judgement until I can hold one.

The unit will not have a headphone jack; Nintendo has created a special adapter for the GBA SP that plugs into the link port which enables users to plug in standard headphones. Sold seperately, of course.

What's the extra slot for in the back? One is for the link cable, what's the other one for?

Looks pretty cool, but I don't know about the ergonomics, might have to wait March, but atleast we get a bigger screen and don't have to worry about scratching the screen, plus it will fit in the backpocket.

I was wondering the same thing. I think, and this is purely speculation, that you can use the GBAsp as a portable monitor for the GameCube. Think about it and look at the shape of the new GBA. It looks perfect to fit on top of the GC and be used for gaming on the road. Just a thought.

It's for the power! It's got a rechargable battery in it.

I like it. The clamshell design also protects the screen. No more scratches on the LCD!

Also, the original gameboy had buttons close to each other and it has never been a problem.

My big, stubby fingers would hate the new one. Looks almost as uncomfortable as the keychain Tetris my brother was toting around this weekend.

I'll stick with the GBA I have and the eyestrain.

Last thing I need is carpel tunnel from Mario!

I WANT that!

I'm surprised its not round though. Doesn't look as comfortable to hold as the current GBA.

Arent' there similiar holes on the current gameboy? They're used by the adapter that goes from the gameboy to the gamecube. It holds the adapter in place.

I am ready to pre-order. As for the Afterburner v. GBA SP choice, an important thing to remember is the Afterburner voids your warranty. Since this is coming directly from Nintendo, you get all of their service with it.

Now, why oh why can't we ever get a Spice orange color over here?

I concur. That' what it's for. (It's also used with the attachable lights for the GBA, to reinforce it.)

I won't be buying it.

I can see the plain GBA fine as is, and I plan on buying the GC adapter to play GBA games on my TV, so I'll have no need for this.
