No they still make horrible games but not many made now are so devoid of gameplay and graphics as these. I have played most of these and they are really not worthy to be called games.
Custers last stand is horrible although there were some far raunchier less well known games on the Atari.

Strangely enough I was nearly dead on with the #1 game. I was anticipating it to be "Beat em and Eat em" - another porn game by the same company where you did more or less the same thing.
How could they overlook Firefly and Sorcerer for the 2600. By Mystique games, they took the exact same game, changed the graphics around slightly, did nothing to the game play, slapped a new label with a new name on it and TA-DA! They had a brand new game.
Now THAT was shameful.

Pretty funny stuff, stevevt. I figured Custer's revenge would be somewhere near the top, as it's hideous in every respect.
Most of the others I've heard of before, too. Then again, I've read many similar articles, so that's probably why. In any case, these are always fun reads, so thanks for the link.

I had a 2600 and Pac-Man. The console has been gone for 15 years, but I still have nightmares about those horrible sounds.
As I recall, we picked up ET at a warehouse clearance sale for only $1.99. Or maybe it was $4.99. Either way, it was too much.

I'm pretty sure my dad paid $50 for that crappy Pac-Man game when it first came out, but I'd rather not think about it.
Few of the Atari 2600 ports were ever close to the arcade version. Pretty sad when you think the Game Boy can duplicate all those games easily.
I'm probably going to end up one of those grumpy old guys complaining to the younger generation.
"When we were kids all we had were little dots bouncing around the screen and we LIKED IT!"

dude, that list is lame. Super Pitfall for NES was the reason I bought that console!!! lol! GREAT game! I liked Atari 2600 pacman as well. It had blocky graphics...but what didnt back then?!
glad they found room for Superman 64... though they should squeezed Shaq-Fu into the list as well!
