Are the bookies taking bets on what millenia Duke Nukem 4 will be released?
Every now and again I am reminded somehow of this game. I just went to www.duke4.com to see if it had been updated at all, and wandered upon the faq again. Good stuff that includes:
"What will Duke Nukem Forever's system requirements be?
Duke Nukem Forever's release is far enough away that 3D Realms doesn't yet know what it will require. A P233-266 with a Voodoo2-quality accelerator will probably be a base."
"Which 3D card will be best for running Duke Nukem Forever?
It's hard to say which 3D card will be best for Duke Nukem Forever because there are always several promising-looking ones on the horizon. Right now Voodoo2 SLI and the RIVA TNT seem to be the leaders of the pack in Direct3D performance, which is what Duke 4 will rely on for 3D. "
Will this be the next Daikatana?

I think it could be a good game still. If it's not out by the end of 2003, I'll have given up all hope.
At least they haven't been trying to keep it hyped up all this time, they're just quietly going about their work, which is why I think it has a chance of being good. With Daikatana they made it sound like it would be the greatest game EVER, so it was bound to disappoint(although it didn't help that the game majorly sucked). Also.. there's no John Romero at 3d Realms

At least its living up to the name Duke Nukem Forever. Its taking freaking forever to get released.
System Requirements for Duke Nukem Forever when it finally gets released:
100 Ghz Pentium 10 processor (200Ghz Pentium 12 recommended)
10 gigs of Ram (50 gigs recommended)
Nvidia GeForce 10 video card or better
HD-DVD ROM
I think most of us will need either a time machine or a cryogenic freezing chamber to actually live long enough to play this game.

it's release isn't too far off... I occasionally read the forums at 3drealms website and they release a bunch of little tidbits of info there now and again... from what I gather, they are getting pretty close.
The release date is still "When It's Done" though which I find annoying.
