Best computer pinball game?

Is it still the Pro Pinball series, or is there something new and better out now?

My favorite was Balls of Steel from 3DRealms a few years back.

Microsoft made a good pinball game which had real tables, some nice classic ones, one from every decade. Of course, this kind of ment there were a lot of old fasioned ones, which don't really resemble the pinball we know...

I downloaded Visual Pinball and PinMAME a couple days ago, and I just have to say: THIS THING ROCKS!

It's full 3D and the physics seem very realistic. You can pretty much download every REAL table out there, and supposedly they play like the real thing (I haven't played a ton of real pinball), and it allows you to create your own tables. Now if I could just get the Twilight Zone table to work...

http://www.vpforums.com/vptables/tables.php has a ton of tables, and the associated roms

http://www.nwlink.com/~scapino/Index.htm This page has some beautiful rendered tables... The ones that have roms that I've tried, the Evil Knievel table, and the Flash Gordon table, are really choppy for some reason... I hope I can figure out why soon. The tables I've tried that don't have an assiciated rom are all very smooth. They all look like older style tables, so there arent fancy LED displays, or ramps and rails all over the place, but they are fun and look really good.

http://www.vpforums.com/index.php?s= has a forum, and a lot of tables, but no roms for the tables. It also has all the latest files you need to use the program (I think)

flashburn: Try minimizing the Visual Pinball editor window, I think the actual table window opens behind the visual pool window for some reason. That's what I have to do.

This is great. Pinball is about the only game I play on my PC since I got an XBOX. I have not played this yet but I have the Microsoft product and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, they never came out with any more tables that I know of.

This would be cool on my xbox and 109" screen. Someday I will get around to that HTPC.

bdshort : yeah if I minimize it i can see where the table should be, but for some reason it isnt rendering the table, just the lcd screen, and I downloaded everything I was supposed to, i think...

Hmm... not sure then... make sure you have everything here:

http://www.vpforums.com/vptables/tables.php#Files

I finally got the Flash Gordon and Evil Kineval tables running smoothly... I had to turn hardware accelleration off then on again... not sure why that worked, but it seemed to...

The Flash Gordon table looks awesome but has a game stopping bug

The guy that did those 2 tables is working on a SWEET looking Afterburner table now.
