Does anyone have a problem with their PS2 door opening?

Mine has a problem when it only opens a couple millimeters and then stops and closes back up. Does anyone else have a problem like this? Just asking and curious if you did anything about it?

It sounds like your pushing the open button more than once when opening the drive, other than that i can't really think of anything why it would do that other than the drive being blocked by something.

Anyone else help me out with this problem? It seems like it's trying to open, but it doesn't very much then goes back in. Also after a while of pushing open and close to get it open, it finally does. Thanks to anyone who can help. Sorry, to repost, but it's a problem I've been facing in the last couple of weeks.

Sounds to me like your tray is not in line and rubbing against the sides makeing it go back in,take it apart and see what the deal is or take it back for a new one,or bitch at Sony enough they will repair it for free.

The only problem is that I got mine used at a pawn shop, so I'm assuming I'll have to take it to a fix it store or something.

Call up Sony first - like mentioned above - you may be able to get them to fix it for free. What is the going rate of a pawn shop PS2 by the way? I need to pick up another one for a relative and I've got nothing against getting one there.
