Check Out My HT Setup and XBOX Shrine
Hey guys,
I recently got a free digital camera from the purchase of my new RPTV. So I snaped away and just contributed to a long running thread in the main DVD Talk forum. Look under user name "dgc": http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...71#post3028871 Show us your gaming / HT setups. ![]()

I'll be the first to admit it, I am a bit of a fanboy (MS stock holder as well) but you'll never catch me bashing another system. My PS2 is in the den but lately (since xbox live) I haven't been playing it much. My wife loves Travolta and so do I. The TV is a SONY KP-57WV700 HD Ready RPTV As for the clock, it's one of those RF atomic clocks. I had the clock before I got the RPTV but haven't hung it yet. I think it matches the TV nicely.

That's pretty nice. I like the carpet. I have to ask though, being a speaker freak, what kind of speakers are those?

dgc, I'm glad that you identified them as your weak link.
I wasn't sure how to put it. ![]() Have you ever considered building your own speakers? It's very rewarding if you have the time and resources. But the best part is you can produce sound setups that equal far greater ones for a fraction of the cost. Even better, you can brag you built them yourself when people are blown away.

My DIY carpentry skills are limited and I've got so many other household projects I need to tackle first (that's my wife speaking). Besides, I alread ordered the B&Ws which really sounded incredible. a great mid range, something I was definitly lacking. I may consider building my own sub though.

Off the top of my head I can point you to: partsexpress.com - Has lots of products you'll need hometheaterforum.com - You can get lots of tips and advice here But like I said, there are ton of resources, lots of how-to's on the net. If you have limited ability check out speaker kits from partsexpress and elsewhere. There is a pair of reference speakers you can "build" for about 140 bucks. I have a friend that has them and they sound much along the line of 500-600 dollar speakers, no joke. Hope that helps you start.

I finished my HT project a couple of months ago. I need some tasteful classic movie posters. If it were just me it would be Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I want to have a movie theme but not go overboard. Soooooo where can I find those posters at a reasonable price?

Of course, reprints can be had at a much cheaper price. Depending on the style and condition, for original Star Wars or Indiana Jones posters, expect to pay between $75 - $200+

They are very nice frames and very nice people to deal with. They are a bit pricey but worth it especially if you have some nice collectible movie paper: http://www.hollywoodposterframes.com...investment.htm They offer UV filtered non-glare plexi and use acid free backing materials. Musuem quality archiving at wholesale prices. The non-glare is great so as not to reflect light back to my RPTV. Hey Dave, add me to your friends list: ![]()
