Anyone notice that the default date was set as Nov 15/01 ? I guess for all those launch guys who got it, saves them some time so they could play Halo

If you give Halo a rental, make sure to play the first three levels. Once you have a good feel for playing it, switch to Heroic ASAP, it's much funner on Heroic.

Halo's pretty good. I just went through 3 sets of identical rooms which were pretty irritating, but you really can't beat sticking plasma grenades to Elites.

The indoors are blah (unless you look up close at the nice bump mapping), but the outdoors are beautiful. Wait until you throw a sticking plasma, the other guy catches it, and throws it back at you.

My XBOX was waiting at home for me when I got there today. Popped Buffy in as soon as I could hook it up and had a great time.

I played all my other games that I ordered and even burned a CD so I can listen to Pink during Sega GT. I'm very pleased so far.

I told myself I wouldn't get Halo since the 2 XBOX owners I know said they'd let me borrow it but here it is almost 2 am and I'm seriously thinking of going to Wal-Mart to get it.

One question:
I could of sworn that when the XBOX was first released that each system was given a "hidden" name. Am I nuts or is this true? And if it is true how do you find it?

Have to have Halo or DOA3 to find out the name.

In Halo when you set up a multiplayer game, it shows a name above your Xbox. But since you've played games where you might enter your name in for a top score (or time) it may have put that there.

Mine was "Dasher" -- when I then played DoA 3 I put "Matt" as my initials. Then I played Halo and the Xbox's 'name' was Matt.

Be careful in DOA3 though because you can permanently change your box's name. And I'm 99% sure that's a one time deal. More details here http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...x+name+hambone

Why don't you head to radio shack and get some RCA cable extensions (for under $10) and put your xbox right near where you are sitting. Then your 10ft. cords will be 9ft too long. I did that with my N64. Or get a Wavebird...er wait...

And for warranties, I've had 2 friends who had to return their X-Boxes because they completely locked up on them and wouldn't do anything. Odd. No problems here yet.

I've had mine for 3 1/2 weeks now. I love this machine. Halo is going on top of my "need this for Christmas list". That is if I can wait that long. Also my wife has a thing agianst M rated games. But I assure you there will be no compromise on my part for Halo.

KICK @$$! Welcome to the fold, now rememeber....ALWAYS test a game before trading it in, and NEVER take "oh they work on my system" as an excuse . Back on topic I am LOVING JSRF. Im glad I bought the system but as I stated in an earlier thread owning al 3 systems is going to be tough for deciding which games to get and why.

I own a Gamecube and Xbox, but will get a PS2 if the price drops, or if they do a bundle similar to Xbox. I would have NEVER even thought of getting a Xbox if it wasnt for the bundle.

I own an Xbox, Tony Hawk 2x and Sega Gt/Jet radio. I love Tony, I can stand Sega GT, and I have yet to try Jet Radio.

I have been playing Blinx and Whacked! at work, and will most likley be picking up Whacked when it becomes used...
