What do you think prize shipped with the last DC will be?

The last Dreamcast shipped will contain a "bonus prize", here's the excerpt from IGNDC.

IGNDC: There have been rumors about this for quite some time and I can't think of a better time to ask it. Is there another Dreamcast price drop planned?

CB: You know what, Anthony, the Dreamcast is a great deal and we're on allocation at the moment. We've had to limit our shipment to retailers because they've ordered more than we've got. And here's something special; the last one that ship, there will be a very special last Dreamcast and I would love to know who's getting that one. That will ship before Christmas and there's going to be a momentous occasion when the last batch of Dreamcasts ship.

IGNDC: Well give us a hint, Charlie... is it going to be a golden Dreamcast? Will it have like $1000 bucks hidden inside it or something?

CB: I'll just say that last Dreamcast from Sega is worth way more than gold. (smiles)

What do you guys think they're including with the last DC? Worth more than gold? I'm guessing it might be a special shell or something.

It sure as hell better NOT be a copy of the English Shenmue that was cancelled

I think the last Dreamcast shipped should have a voucher entitling the person who purchases it to a FREE copy of every Sega game ever made and system to go along with it. And a copy of every future Sega game to be made, for their lifetime. Get real about the platinum, I doubt what he meant about it being worth more than gold. It has to be something a gamer would cherish more than gold.

maybe it'll come with an Xbox or Ps2... that'd be sweet.

Maybe it'll come with a graveyard full of Sega's other "promising" consoles. Like Sega CD, Sega 32X, Sega Neptune, and Sega Saturn.

LOL that would be pretty funny. What was the Sega Neptune? I don't recall hearing about that.

maybe it'll be a special GD containing interviews with people at Sega. But I wouldn't consider that worth more than gold

They are producing "one" special last DC it would have to be more than a Smash Pack 2 or an included game.
My bet is it is just a special shell with special controller included or they would produce more than one.
Also someone who works for Sega will end up with it somehow I am sure this unit won't randomly get shipped to some retail outlet/

It can't be a change in the console since they stopped producing them over 6 months ago.

i dont know if the neptune ever saw the light of day actually, although i rememebr seeing it in magazines. It was a portable system ala gamegear that would let you play regular genesis games. Probably never made it out of the concept department, which is where half of sega's shiz needed to stay.

You're thinking of the Nomad, which was released. The Neptune was a combo genesis & 32X.

It's probably a Wonka Bar with a Golden Ticket.
