It's a new compilation!

I read that it's unseen footage with no bearing on the actual show. It's just filler used to bump more Survivor episodes into the sweeps month.

A pretty darn boring compilation, I might add. At least last year, they didn't do these until AFTER the series was over.

yeah, the explanation was that they wanted people who got started late with the show to feel "caught up". I'm sure they'll probably do one of these at the end of the series also.

They said that they wanted to catch people up, but in reality, they wanted the finale to be delayed so taht it would be in the last week of sweeps week.
