Anyone know what happened to the Family Guy. That show was one of the funniest, quick-witted, twisted shows I have ever seen. Anyone know when or if it is coming back?

I agree, Mike...but don't despair. "Family Guy" is on the Fox midseason replacement roster along with "The Tick".

JoeC...look for it soon

I can't wait for this show to come back on the air. Until then, you can go here to hold you over.

I think Family Guy has faced opposition because it doesn't appeal to the mindless masses who often watch TV. It was an incredibly sharp, intelligent comedy. The Simpsons are similar in that respect, but they've managed to make the show appealing still to those who don't get the witty jokes.

Family guy is definitely mature humor with LOTS of "read between the lines" jokes. Not everybody's cup of tea, especially when you consider that Friends is the highest rated sitcom.

That show got away with many jokes that escaped the censors!
I think I gasped over at least one joke nearly every episode. A very funny show!

This show didn't appeal to the masses, because it had a lot of T.V. / Pop-culture hidden jokes & meanings. (same with the Critic)

Joe-6-pack dosen't "get it," remember he just "started watching Survivor this season, I tuned in to the last episode last year."

The Simpsons made it and I would argue that the masses still don't get all of the jokes.

Family Guy Please come back or release them on DVD

Oh Yeah! ... Word had it that Fox has built up a surplus of Family Guy and The Tick (live-action) episodes to use if the writers and actors strikes come to pass.

They may start airing this summer or next season.

adboy, I heard that, too. I would figure they would hold them until fall.

JoeC...they only made 9 episodes of "The Tick" so far, hope it's not a long strike...

Two of my favorite moments on the show are as follows:

The baby walking down the side of the road to the Incredible hulk music.

At a funeral playing taps turning the song into that crap ass jazz song form lite jazz stations.

Such a good show!

Rumor has it it will be a mid season replacement...

My favorite is when they inherit all the money.

Stewey: You two fight to the death(Star Trek Music)!

You cut my milk!

Servant: I can't cut milk, it's a liquid!

Stewey: Stupid, Freeze then cut it!

Updated Family Guy News

I just read on E!Online (Chat with Wanda in the Community section), that The Family Guy, The Tick, and a bunch of other shows are going to be on the Fall 2001 schedule, instead of midseason. This is because of the impending writer's strike, networks want to have shows in the can so that they don't have to play reruns. This is probably better for the show in the long run, because VERY few midseason shows are successful, especially if it has already been on as a full season show in the past.

Chris - "What would you say if I told you I was quitting the Boy Scouts?"

Peter - "I'd say 'come again?', and then I'd laugh cuz I said 'come'."
