yes, but we didn't know that at the time, and they could have written a different storyline. And she might have made an exception for Cersei's lover/brother.

Yeah, I don't think she'd expect Jaime to turn on Cersei, and she'd see the value of him as a hostage.

I still can't get past the idea that Cersei will somehow have a change of heart if she sees a wight. She might see it as a threat... that she'll tackle as soon as she has Jon et al. killed.

Not to mention that if she is now so weak militarily that she effectively poses no threat to Dany and her forces, what substantial use is she to the effort to fight the WW, most especially since she is so far to the south and such a convoluted, ridiculous plan is needed to convince her to help.

There is also the fact that she seemed to suggest that she knew Tyrion was in the capital and did nothing about it, something that Cersei never would have allowed to happen. I will give the show some credit and assume that she didn't find out until it was too late, but her reaction was not believable considering how much she loaths Tyrion. Jaime doesn't tell her the truth about Oleanna until after she has had a chance to react.

Mod note: Please do not discuss the leaked details of the upcoming episode on this forum. I do not want the risk of any spoilers finding their way here.

Agreed with the mod!

Make sure you guys stay away from youtube! I was on there and one of the suggested video thumbnails and it's title was a total spoiler for the upcoming episode. So pissed!

I usually don't watch leaks, but I may have to just so I don't get more spoilered.

Seems to me Cersei has gone around the bend. Her breaker box has a few tripped circuits.

Probably not, since Sam rescinded all titles by joining the Watch. But since he left to be a Maester for the Watch, then left that post this episode, maybe anything goes. Or Jon could just reinstate him if he wanted to.

FWIW, I have the new ep. downloaded but can't seem to get it to work. It's in an MP4 format and iTunes doesn't want to play it.

That said, I went ahead and read the spoilers (must be the book reader in me having the desire to be in the know).

I did as well, wasn't planning on it but seeing the titles of those clips youtube was showing me in the Recommended section made the decision for me. I'll still watch it this weekend but meh ... that's annoying

Re: Game of Thrones (S7E05) -- "Eastwatch" -- 8/13/17

I know dex14 said no discussion of the leak on this forum, but at the very least, if people are going to continue to refer to it, at least do so in an S7E06 thread. This thread is about episode 5.

I'm not going to create the thread out of respect for what dex14 said, but it might be time to consider going ahead and creating the thread for episode 6 with perhaps a SPOILER label in the title or first post. If anyone goes into it and starts reading at that point, that'd be on them. But again, that's just a suggestion. Right now the official word is no discussion of the leaked episode 6 @ DVDTalk.

Yeah, I think creating an episode 6 thread now is a smart idea.

I thought about that but then everyone who likes to go in before the episode airs and talk about their anticipation or whatever else can get it ruined for them? Or have to avoid the thread. Just stop discussing. What is so hard about that? Don't even it put in here in spoiler tags.

Not only that, but that's only encouraging people to pirate a stolen episode.

Show a little restraint and wait until Sunday. What's so hard about waiting four more days?

Re: Game of Thrones (S7E05) -- "Eastwatch" -- 8/13/17

Given the number of people that have already talked about it, seems pretty hard I figure a *LEAKED SPOILERS* warning in the title should be enough along with warning everyone to still use spoiler tags until Sunday, but I guess it won't stop some public school teachers

To be fair, I can't imagine a thread on this forum is encouraging anything or anyone.

In the end, doesn't really matter to me. Seems like there's enough people that want to discuss, so I think it's nice to give forum goers an avenue for that.

Exactly. Although this episode wasn't stolen

There is precedent for doing it... we did it for Episode 2 of Westworld... that was because it was on HBOGO. But that hadn't caught on hugely yet. And it isn't anywhere the level of GoT. If there's overwhelming demand for it than it can be considered.

I don't even really want to give anyone here an avenue to be tempted at opening a spoiler tag. I've had to do it in this thread on reported posts and I'm not thrilled about it.

Putting the information out there and saying the episode was leaked and is floating around the Internet is definitely encouraging. Plus, saying this is a spoiler thread for anyone who downloaded it is definitely enticing/encouraging people to do the same.

Again, if you have an HBO Now account, access to HBO Go or are already paying for HBO and haven't seen the episode, what is so hard about showing a little self restraint and waiting until Sunday?
