Well, this season really picked up in its second half. Another really good episode with lots of Game of Thrones type moments. Ed Harris gave an Emmy worthy performance, and it was cool seeing Hopkins more or less go into Lecter mode to mess with everyone. Actually anticipating next week's finale.

So Teddy also hated Dolores so much this season that he killed himself

I think the show has been a lot stronger these last few episodes, mostly because we've gotten to see more of Ed Harris and Anthony Hopkins. They continue to be excellent. I enjoyed what happened with William's wife.

Really good episode. I love that they're finally dropping the smoke and mirrors and convoluted timelines and just telling their story now. William finally lost it. Is he a Host or a Guest? I need to know!

"I love you Dolores, but quite frankly your character sucks." POW followed by the sweet release from a crappy plot thread.

so did anyone else get the impression William was looking for a port in his arm when he started digging in with his knife? Great episode wish there were 12 per season... especially with the last couple of episodes being so strong. Be interesting if they show the ramifications of him killing the guards and his daughter down the road.

yes, i got that impression - as that was clearly what the implication was meant to be. Cliffhanger to next episode.

Yeah that's about as unambiguous as this show has ever gotten.

I can't imagine him being able to cut into his forearm and not hit his artery, so either he's a robot or he's going to quickly feel the effects of blood loss on top of the recent gun shot wounds that have miraculously started healing.

Um..Sela Ward looked damn good.

The part where she viewed that card Ford gave William with all of the sick violent shit he did in WW was like Wow. Can you imagine your spouse viewing a file with VIDEO of all the sick shit you've done over the past 20+ years?

My Grand Theft Auto actions alone would be grounds for divorce.

Re: Westworld (S2E09) -- "Vanishing Point" -- 6/17/18

I think people expecting answers next week are going to be disappointed. Unless it pivots to something completely different, they need to extend this storyline for another season. Didnt love this episode much, saw the events coming a million miles away.

I DO like though that they have turned Delores into essentially the bogeyman, and the big bad. I still feel the only truly alive one is Maeve and maybe the Indian from last week. The rest are still just running Ford's game including Delores. Bernard is something else entirely I think.

This episode did surprise me with William killing his daughter. I thought they were setting it up for him to either get killed or kill himself and then she would take up his mantle. In terms of people thinking William might be a host, didn't the rescue team scan him and he showed up positive as one?

Yeah, but they did the same for Bernard right?

The thing is Maeve would have known he was a host when she saw him two episodes ago.

Though I guess they could explain away something like that she wasn't aware of, or able to control these reincarnated Guests. That they are somehow different.

Bernard wasn't scanned, if I recall. They just saw him among the deck of cards of people they were supposed to rescue (after he washed onto the beach).

But yeah, William was scanned in this very episode and showed as human. So would have to be a twist that doesn't fit with anything we've seen so far.

Well, you probably wouldn't have a talk show on AMC...

William isn't a host. It's a psychosis. Somewhere along the line he got the idea in his head that he might be a host. At the party we see him rubbing his right arm. At first he probably was able to shrug it off, but over time it's gotten worse. Part of his paranoid psychological makeup that's making him think everybody is Ford.

I think he was scanned in an earlier episode where he and Hale returned to the bunker in the earlier timeline prior to them finding him on the beach and they were both scanned and it showed he cleared.

Re: Westworld (S2E09) -- "Vanishing Point" -- 6/17/18

Question : We never saw any sign of head-wound trauma with floating dead Teddy seen in episodes 1 & 2 of this season. Do we think that he came back and got killed again, or is this corpse the same corpse we see in the "2 Weeks Later" timeline in S2E1? We'll find out soon enough, just wondering what you guys thought.

ah, so went googling... and saw this screen grab on reddit - apparently the scan is just for explosives, not for whether they are a host or not (but the assumption of the Delos military is that all hosts have explosives)
