Good news!
One thing I meant to mention (not sure if it has) but I liked the little graphic preview that would appear at the start of each episode.

Yeah, those were cool, though I didn't always catch all of the references during the episode.

Ran through it pretty quick last week. Enjoyable show, pretty surprised at that last episode with del, didn't expect that at all...
No feeling the FBI guy though, way too much of a loose cannon, too emotional, and the whole boning his confidential informants thing.

Nice to see Bateman do some serious acting. It was refreshing to see a character of intelligence, who is family oriented, determined and not wishy-washy like his previous comedic work. When your family is on the line, you'll do anything to get things done.
As for Ruth. I agree with the previous comments on how she sees Marty: A father figure and someone who respects her. She sees how he loves his family and I think she wants to be part of his. He could have brushed her off, but he gave her a second chance. Who gives someone managerial control of a strip club after they attempt to rip you off? So we should see some interesting things coming for Ruth in the next season.

Julia Garner has really stepped up her game in this. I first noticed her in Martha Marcy May Marlene. And she continued to put in strong work in The Americans and Grandma.
She always looked to me like she stepped out of a 1920s silent movie.

I finished it last night - I liked Bateman and how there was a very cold relationship between him and his wife - well acted and played.

What I hate was the conversion afterwards. Anyone who has fired a shotgun inside knows no talking until the bells stop ringing.

Amazing series. Glad it got picked up for season 2. I probably should have stayed out of here until I finished it though. Hearing it got renewed kind of killed some suspense for the ending. It makes a few things obvious and sort of spoils it.
Better than anything I have seen this year.
Netflix has done an amazing job recently. There are some great foreign series on there as well.
The Break
Case
Paranoid
Deep Water
Marcella
Are some I would recommend as well. Of course you may need to read subtitles on some of them.

As someone who grew up in the Lake of the Ozarks area in my teenage years I can say that they were really able to capture the look and feel of the lake area quite well, the people too. I didn't realize it at the time I was living there, the 80s, but now in hindsight the lake was a really sleazy place, probably still is, maybe more so because of meth and such.
Anyway, good show!

Look at shows like Breaking Bad and Weeds. That's part of what they showed. Those weren't exactly slums where Walter White and Nancy Botwin lived. For most of the people, it was PTA meetings and soccer practice. But beneath the surface...
The show isn't about tourism, but one thing I find strange is that it's supposed to be a vacation destination (people coming in for the summer), but I haven't really seen anything in the show that makes me think, "I need to take a vacation there." Maybe it's just the big city guy in me, but what exactly is there to do there other than ride on a boat? I'm not saying it needs rollercoasters, etc. But there has to be something to do, even when relaxing and vacationing. That's just a small thing that made it a bit difficult for me to understand exactly how much money was going through the area and how he'd money launder. The show did slightly address that though when he expresses reservations about success and said "There's nothing going on here."
