The movie is probably the best prep for this series. The tone is more in line with the movie than the show.

It will help with some plot. It makes even less sense if you haven't seen at least the season 2 finale and the movie.

Cant really say I enjoyed this. Took me like 3 separate sittings to even get though. I was a huge fan of Twin Peaks but realize I remember very little but not sure I want to invest the time to catch up

I had been working my way through the Blu-ray set, -I decided to jump ahead and watch "Fire" and "The Missing Pieces" before the premiere, -but watching "The Return" has kind of made me lose interest. The original seems much more "hit and miss" (for me, anyway) than I remember it.
