They also seem to have abandoned when. I don't recall them being able to travel so far back in time before.

The 4th and Final season will premiere June 15th

However, SyFy is burning it off over 4 weeks. 3 episodes will air each Friday for 3 weeks, then the finale will be the last 2 episodes.

Really bizarre treatment SyFy is giving this show. 1st, they dump season 3 in 1 weekend, now they dump the final season over 4 weeks.

I feel like after season 2 solidified it as a cult show, but not a breakout hit, they've decided to use it as a testbed for different delivery strategies.

Season 3 was phenomenal (surprised me), so I’m excited for season 4.

The season 3 weekend marathon was a special sneek peek event. The entire season did not become available on demand or streaming platforms afterwards. The following week the episodes were aired weekly in a regular time slot and the episodes became available on other platforms one at a time as they aired. It was a one shot chance to see the entire season without having to wait and watch week by week. It's not unlike being able to stream the entire 10 episodes of The Terror right away except it was a free one-shot.

Except that my DVR captured the whole marathon, since I had a season pass already, so I could watch at my leisure. Basically, anyone who had been DVRing the show up to that point got it all at once.

That's true. I did the same thing. My point is that the marathon was a one shot sneek peak to see the entire season before it began it's regular weekly airing.

Honestly I didn't know it aired after the first weekend. I had watched the whole season by Monday. Kind of wish they would do it again. It's the perfect kind of show to bing watch.

I think it only got renewed because Syfy believed in the show's quality and wanted it to continue. The ratings for it were never very good.

I'm surprised in this day of binge viewing that it hasn't picked up more fans through streaming. With the right promotion on Netflix or some other venue it would have been a bigger hit.

Hulu has the streaming rights, and season 3 hasn't been released on it yet:

Reminder. Season four starts tonight. First three episodes. Looks like limited commercials. Three episodes in little over 2.5 hours.
