I really enjoyed the second episode. While I'll acknowledge she's a little over-aggressive and self-absorbed, I like the Reese Witherspoon character, and find myself agreeing with her about most of the shit she's getting fired up about.

I'm assuming everyone knows the Zoe Kravitz is Lisa Bonet's kid, but just wanted to point it out. And I don't see any correlation in their roles aside from very high level. I could see a correlation between Reese's role in this and her Tracy Flick role from Election though.
I'm about halfway through the book now. The show is very faithful so far. It's a good read, but I'm glad that I saw an episode first since it helped me to quickly remember who was who. One different thing in the book is that Reese has a third child in it, a boy that's two years old that her youngest daughter, IIRC.

One thing not in the books is this dark-headed guy that's been watching them. Even having read the book I can't figure out who it's supposed to be for sure. I have a possible idea, but if it's really who I'm thinking of it may mean that the show could play out differently than the book.

Finished the book, and really enjoyed it. Depending on how this plays out, this could be a really good series.
I can't remember any dark headed guy watching them in these episodes? I'll have to keep an eye out for him next time I watch. Not sure how it could be who you think though...

Probably not him, but hard to say right now. The dark-headed has been shown in both episodes, but very briefly. In the first episode when the 3 ladies are at the coffee shop he peeks at them from around the corner.
Edit: if you have HBO GO and are curious, the person I'm referring to can be seen at 16:37 in the first episode.

Felt this was the worst episode so far. It dragged for me, especially the counseling scene with Perry & Celeste. Renata did say that she wanted to kill Madeline though...hmmm....foreshadowing, or red herring?
I find pretty much unlikable still, except for Reese, but that's probably because I've always had a thing for her and she can do no wrong in my eyes.

Adam Scott Sorry
I thought episode 4 was the best show and renewed my interest but the counseling session was too long.
Any excuse to play "Harvest Moon" by Neil Young is fine with me.

Agree about "Harvest Moon". I love that song.

Despite the characters being unlikable the acting is great. The show is basically a murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. Good stuff. I liked everyone singing Dreams in the car. Good use of music in this show.

So in Episode 3, it was pretty clear to everyone else who they were insinuating raped Woodley's character, right?

I wouldn't be surprised if Renata had Madeline followed and pictures of the kiss end up being leaked, leading to more possible motive for the murder.

Yea. I think they've telegraphed who the rapist is and who the real school bully is. I'm still not certain on the murder/murderer. I have suspicions. But I'm not sure yet.

Having read the book it's hard for me to say whether or not I'd have picked up on it by now, but my wife who hasn't read it is 100% correct with her own speculation.

So Jane is getting pulled over with a loaded gun in her purse. Interesting. I figured that when she went to see the interior designer, it would be obvious that he was gay, but I guess they didn't go that way with it. I might have been dozing, but was there a reason that she didn't follow through with her plan to shoot him? Does she know it's not him? Did she not have it in her?

These last few episodes have seen fairly pointless. At this point I really don't care who was dead because these people are all unlikeable.
