All 13 episodes were shot and wrapped in December.

There are still 9 more to air.

Paxton’s death makes the already unlikely renewal virtually impossible. But the show gives fans a chance to appreciate the actor’s craft one more time.

A Tweet from his co-star Justin Cornwell.

Wonder what CBS will do with this show?

-Just cancel it and air what's been filmed.

-Write Paxton's character out, and write a new character in.

-Just recast the character and move on.

Since so few episodes have aired, they could recast and re-film the unaired episodes but that would be insanely expensive.

As I posted above, all 13 episodes are in the can. 4 have aired. They are just airing what has been shot & burning them off. There is no shot of this coming back for a 2nd season since the ratings have been disappointing and he's the lead character. If the show was a hit, then maybe they would have tried re-casting or writing him out. But that's not happening. I'm guessing they may have an In Memoriam title card in the next week or two.

I bet they filmed a cliff hanger for the final episode before he passed. They should redo the final episode as a closing to the series.

Katrina Law made a post on Facebook that just said "Hug your loved ones" 15 hours ago. She must have found out then but probably wasn't allowed to say anything till it was officially released.

Yeah I also saw that post on Twitter. It was kind of cryptic, but now it makes sense. I also think she didn't want to say anything detailed until the family released the news.

I wonder if there is enough time for him to be mentioned in tonight's Oscars.

I doubt it, it almost falls under the "too soon" category. As silly as that sounds, the Oscars have always been hit and miss with current celeb deaths. They usually only highlight the prior years passings unless it is a massive star they need to add at the last minute. Typically that memmoriam is cut and edited weeks ago. That being said, it's not an impossible addition to do.

And with the current ratings decline, I could see them adding something to feed the water cooler talk... "that was quick/on top of it/cutting edge" etc,..

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Damn. I don't watch the show, and didn't open this thread, but then I saw a post about Paxton's death on the movie board. I'm stunned. A fun and talented actor to watch and I thought his directorial efforts were quite good.

RIP Bill

This show isn't good enough to warrant continuing without Bill

This show was actually getting better and better except for the lockhart character

Decent way for Bill to go out

Hope Katrina Law moves onto something else cool

Agreed. We've stuck with it and have not been disappointed. The latest episode was GREAT, and reminded us that the new Riggs and Murtoch have not destroyed a housing development yet....

I finished off the season and it was good ! had real potential for a season 2 with the hunt for Leviathan

at least they wrapped things up enough anyway
