RIP Alan Thicke (1947-2016)
Wow. Just saw him a couple days ago on one of the new episodes of Fuller House. Apparently he had a heart attack while playing hockey with his son.

Damn. This one stings. Alan Thicke was awesome. Growing Pains was one of my favorites growing up in the 80's. I loved Jason Seaver.
This one really hurts.

Does it really hurt that much?

Sad news and completely out of the blue.
Edit to add: He just tweeted less than 4 hours ago. Wonder if this was a tweet scheduled ahead of time?

I think it's probably a Tweet from his Assistant or Social Media team. Notice that it's plugging Fuller House. Original story said he went to the hospital around 11am-ish.

Most of you probably aren't aware, but Alan Thicke co-wrote and sang on the opening theme for Diff'rent Strokes.
He also wrote the theme for The Facts of Life, which his wife sang.
The guy was talented coming up with 80's theme songs.

Same here. His portrayal of Jason Seaver was cool, up there with Michael Gross' Steven Keaton.

Mike here. I hust saw that episode too, and he was also on "This Is Us" in a great supporting role to help establish Kevin's character. I grew up with Growing Pains (even still have the trading cards somewhere)
