Ugggggg...... I'm sure we're going to be bombarded with all of Wiig's awful reoccurring characters that she obviously thought were funnier than they actually were.

How about Jason Sudeikis instead? I want to actually get some laughs. (Maybe a "Scared Straight" skit for old times sake)

I love the Xx, but that was a very awkward performance.

Not even Steve Martin could save that opening monologue/song.
I usually like Wiig, but this episode was not funny.

I'm amazed they did a Target sketch, with Wiig on the show, and didn't shoehorn in the Target Lady.

worst for me was last sketch of the show with the aunt who can't keep a secret at at a surprise party and goes into an anxiety freakout
I LOVED the original sketch and consider it to be a classic. Wiig slowly ramps up the anxiety in the original with a building 'oh my god' in such a skillful way that when she finally run screaming through the wall the payoff is genuine.
This was like someone raped the original sketch and sucked out any last bit of comedy left and then added on 2 minutes more of random nonsense.
Of course Wiig did screw up the only funny part of the skit where she was supposed to have swallowed a whole pillow.
Was the gay army son and his lover supposed to be funny? Was the Aunt throwing the turkey supposed to be funny? What was the last shout about same-sex relationships supposed to be about?
Almost, but not quite as bad was the horrible recurring skit at the cat adoption place with the lesbian owner. The first time we saw it the skit was a classic. Then they milked it four or five more times and now its just a shadow of itself.
Someone get the writers some of new medical grade cannabis we have here in California...

The XX and St. Vincent the only two bands I had no clue who they were when they appeared on SNL.
I thought this was one of the better SNL shows and I am not a huge Wiig fan.
The thanksgiving ballons, the cat store, WU with Pete Davidson, the Target parking lot short, and the aunt who can't keep a secret were great and the Trump opening was good.
Cecily Strong was almost in every sketch.
I am in the minority but I think Yost and Che are great and they have grown on me.

That's the first time I've ever seen The XX perform...do they always look like they're both lip syncing AND not actually playing their instruments too?
