Jake and Holt remain in Florida, adjusting to their new lives under the Witness Protection Program, while Jimmy "The Butcher" Figgis is still on the loose. Their one human link to their regular lives is U.S. Marshall Karen Haas (guest star Maya Rudolph, "Maya and Marty"), but their anonymity may be in danger when a video of them goes viral in the all-new "Coral Palms Pt.1" season premiere episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE airing Tuesday, Sept. 20 (8:00-8:31 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Yea, I didn't find it all that funny. A few chuckles here and there.
Odd to start off the season with an episode concentrating on only 2 of the characters. Should have thrown in a story line back at the Nine-Nine as well.

Same here. It's definitely an ensemble show. Personally, I wish they wouldn't have such game changing cliffhangers in the finale that get lazily written out in the beginnings of the season (Peralta's mob undercover and Holt's transfer out of the 99 in the previous two seasons). They have to get back to "normal" before long, so why write yourself into a corner in the season finale? This trend of cliffhangers on sitcoms has to end.

While I miss the rest of the cast, I enjoyed the episode. Glad everything wasn't resolved so quickly, and it was fun watching Jake and Holt interact.

I thought the new captain story was boring... I know there was a line about how they had yet another new captain, but I don't think they did anything interesting with it. I liked Jake and Holt buying guns, and their prison escape.
Did Rosa look weird to everyone else too? Her face seemed thinner or something, with lots of make up on too.

Yeah, I definitely noticed that. I looked her up and her recent photos don't really look that different so I'm not sure what was up with how she looked in that episode.

I was hardly expecting Law & Order type seriousness at all, I simply meant that after referencing the character for so long in a fairly long story arc, as well as having a fairly recognizable actor in Eric Roberts, that they would have done something funnier or wackier with him. I loved Holt pulling the pipe out of his leg.

The New Girl crossover was disappointing, barely anything there except that brief moment with Jess.

The Halloween episode felt like a return to form for the show, and I liked how all the characters had a chance to shine (Rosa's I am all in for the next 9 hours do your nerd thing comment to Amy was awesome).

For me, the Pimento character just throws off the balance of the show. i don't know why they brought him back.
