No Tomorrow (CW) -- S: Joshua Sasse -- Series Thread -- Premieres 10/4/16

Evie Callahan (Tori Anderson), a risk-averse quality-control assessor, appreciates order. Whenever she's making a list, "make a list" is both the first thing on it and the first thing crossed off. Such a regimented life has its drawbacks. Her on-again/off-again romance with the sweet, but soft-spoken Timothy (Jesse Rath) has sputtered out. Her career has stalled. Her boss, Deirdre (Amy Pietz), a petty tyrant with breath that could kill a plant, laughs off her ambitions. Then Evie meets charming, free-spirited Xavier Holliday (Joshua Sasse), and the attraction is immediate and electric. He brings a jolt of joyful, rollicking romance into her life. Xavier encourages Evie to carpe that diem, because it's more fun that way and because, well, the apocalypse is, you know, nigh. He believes humankind has a mere eight months and twelve days until a runaway asteroid smacks us all into stardust. That's why he made an Apocalyst - a tally of every last thing he wants to do before the world goes kaput. So with the help of her friends - Hank (Jonathan Langdon), a diehard conspiracy theorist, and Kareema (Sarayu Blue), a droll nihilist - Evie must decide whether Xavier is certifiable and whether that even matters, if being with him means living her life more fully. Based on the International Emmy-nominated Brazilian format from Grupo Globo, NO TOMORROW is a romantic comedy with the ultimate ticking clock. NO TOMORROW is from CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television in association with Electus, with executive producers Corinne Brinkerhoff ("American Gothic," "Jane The Virgin," "The Good Wife"), Maggie Friedman ("Witches of East End") and Ben Silverman ("Jane The Virgin," "The Office").

Re: No Tomorrow (CW) -- S: Joshua Sasse -- Series Thread -- Premieres 10/4/16

Light weight sort of rom-com like show. It was better than I thought it would be but I'm not sure it's an hour long level of show. I guess it depends on what she puts on her end of the world bucket list.

The female lead, Tori Anderson, is really cute and her character is likable. Even if it's pure hollywood casting 101 to try to act like the tall hot blond is this awkward acting office cube level worker. Going all unnoticed in life. As her mom and I guess sister are talking to her like she is running out of options for guys when she balked at the wimpy guy asking her to get married.

Yeah, I "think" she might have a few more options. I mean I know it must be tough to find a guy willing go out on a date when looking like:

imagebam.com

but hey give her a little time..

Does it even mater how this show does rating wise? I think The CW keeps anything around for at least one season.

Re: No Tomorrow (CW) -- S: Joshua Sasse -- Series Thread -- Premieres 10/4/16

This show is not going to appeal to most here, but I found it cute and charming. I mean it's an end of the world romantic comedy. What better combination?

It's a very strange show to pair with The Flash, but I get they want to use their highest rated show to help launch this. Content-wise this would probably work better being paired with Jane the Virgin or Crazy Ex Girlfriend.

Tori Anderson (Evie) is really cute and I liked her as the lead. She has decent chemistry with Sasse.

I at the cougar boss (Amy Pietz) lusting over the fat black co-worker.

I'm a sucker for this genre, so I'll stick with it and see how it goes. But, what happens after the 8 months are up and nothing happens?

Re: No Tomorrow (CW) -- S: Joshua Sasse -- Series Thread -- Premieres 10/4/16

I thought this was a pitch-perfect pilot with great casting. The CW must have high hopes for it by placing it after the Flash. It was smart, funny and engaging. They even threw in a few surprises in the plot. I hope everyone gives this pilot a chance.

This script or idea had to have been originally written as a movie treatment. It's tailor-made as a romantic comedy.

I'll say what every man watching this show was thinking. Tori Anderson's beauty stands out even by the lofty standards of network television leads. Networks rarely cast someone this good looking in lead roles, outside of soapy dramas.

I watched this last night and liked it. The pilot is being re-aired next Monday, probably since it was on up against the VP debate.

Pretty much Steve Carrell in "Looking for a friend for the end of the World"

This is a good show but she is way too hot to be a droopy girl who can't get a guy.

I'm sure there are plenty of 10's running around that can't get dates.

Yeah it was a cute second episode.

I was amused at how Evie's boss Deidre struggles trying to be nice and connecting to people.

They did try to bring a little more depth to Xavier's character with his backstory about the Mom.

Last scene with the washing machines was cute. Tori Anderson made that scene memorable.

Re: No Tomorrow (CW) -- S: Joshua Sasse -- Series Thread -- Premieres 10/4/16

It just hit me. Evie's father is played by Ted McGinley, TV's long-time show killer. The ratings are still low, but looks like this week stabilized.

Episode 3 was solid this week. I at Deidre's awkward lust for Hank and then freaking him out by whispering in his ear. "Internet Girlfriend!"

Hank...."I had a full blown eargasm"

This is actually a very refreshing show to watch outside of The CW's comic heavy rotation.

It's definitely out of the ordinary for a CW show. Feels like it's aimed at an older demographic than they normally cater.

I hesitated to reference the dreaded Ted McGinley curse. It was the first thing I thought when I saw the pilot.

Anyone that likes Jenna Dewan (Lucy Lane from Supergirl last season) should definitely watch Tuesday's episode with her in it as guest. Particularly her male admirers.

They've somehow pulled off this concept through four episodes without being too cheesy. Network television gets fewer and fewer rom-coms these days.

I am kind of interested on how they are going to play this if the show lasts until the time of the big event.

I doubt it will make it that far. I read an article yesterday that said this show is already in danger due to low ratings.

That was a lot of fun.

Jenna Dewan Tatum as a sexy free spirit.

Evie and Xavier having a faux 3-way with Amy Brenneman after she rejects their pick up in the bar.

and then Evie participating in mud wrestling.

I know the ratings for this haven't been good, but hopefully it manages to get at least it's entire 13 episode order aired. Not only is Tori Anderson stunning to look at, but it's such a fun and different show.

This is exactly the kind of show that needs a lot of time to find an audience.

High concept, fun execution, easy going actors and actresses.

Cast and show is starting to find its footing.

Somehow maybe it can make it a season.

It's one of those shows that may have found a bigger audience on a network like NBC. It would slide in quite comfortably on NBC's schedule and typical demo.

The ex's talk dirty stutter made me laugh and mud wrestling is just a win

I really liked this past Tuesday's episode.

The scene with Evie blowing off her high school friend Fern in favor of the cooler crowd was kind of a kick in the nuts and made me feel bad for the character.

Their reunion as adults and Fern using it to get revenge on Evie and teach her a lesson was a good follow up. I thought overall it had a very poignant message.

Re: No Tomorrow (CW) -- S: Joshua Sasse -- Series Thread -- Premieres 10/4/16

Last night's episode was great.

The antics with Hank and Deirdre was hilarious now that they've started having sex.

During the HR meeting:

Deridre: I think about you in the shower

Hank: I want to take a bite out of your butt.

Evie looked great in that 60's miniskirt. She had some really sweet moments with Xavier.

Re: No Tomorrow (CW) -- S: Joshua Sasse -- Series Thread -- Premieres 10/4/16

This has been the most consistently entertaining show of the 2016 Fall season. I don't even mind Evie's former boyfriend, I thought their break-up was going to be dragged out all season.

I think its name has done the show no favors attracting viewers. There are no real names in the cast with built-in fan bases.

Last night's episode was probably one of the best of the season.

Going to be a huge shame when this show ends (probably for good) in a few weeks.

Some real progress in Evie and Xavier's relationship and now he's actually having hope and looking for a future with her. The stuff with Xavier helping her grandparents was a sweet moment.

Kareema's wedding was also nice after Deirdre called off hers.

Re: No Tomorrow (CW) -- S: Joshua Sasse -- Series Thread -- Premieres 10/4/16

FYI, tonight is the Season and Most Likely Series Finale for anyone who has kept up with this show.

SEASON FINALE

NO TOMORROW

"No Sleep 'Til Reykjavik" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

XAVIER IS SHOCKED TO LEARN HIS THEORY HAS BEEN CONFIRMED - Xavier (Joshua Sasse) discovers his asteroid research has been validated, which changes everything. While an unknowing Evie (Tori Anderson) takes a solo journey to think about her future, Timothy (Jesse Rath) distracts himself with a different kind of trip, and the Cybermart gang endures Deirdre's (Amy Pietz) harsh new rules. Sarayu Blue and Jonathan Langdon also star Corinne Brinkerhoff, Gracie Glassmeyer and Justin W. Lo wrote the episode, directed by Stuart Gillard (#113). Original airdate 1/17/2017.

The entire season will be available on Netflix in 8 days.

I'm going to miss it. I enjoyed this abbreviated season much more than Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which just got renewed. It was nice to have a different show like this on The CW and Tori Anderson was definitely a good reason to watch. I hope she gets another gig soon.

Hopefully they got enough notice to write tonight's finale with a decent amount of closure. The CW's President did say that there would also be some kind of online exclusive epilogue as well.
