This episode felt like the "reset button" being hit really hard by the producers.

Yeah that was a total reset.
It stretches reality, but I did laugh when Red blackmailed the President to get Liz's pardon.
Not surprised about Samar having feelings for Aram. They have been hinting at something between them for awhile now.
I am curious when the show goes on the 8 week hiatus next month how they are going to segue Tom to the spinoff.

Not a total reset since not everybody is back where they started. Certainly if we end up with an office romance for Aram, that will be brand new (and I so hate that excuse for a story line).
Wonder how much (if at all) Tom's mommy will show up in the next few episodes. They certainly threw in a line where he went on about his family so they could the stage for his taking off for awhile.

I think this one was good. In my opinion, this season has been a dud so far, so this case was interesting and unpredictable for me.

Jill Hennessy as a Blacklist villain sounds cool.

Kind of an interesting twist to the usual formula by having Liz infiltrate a group of criminals.
I will say they put a lot less thought into the villains each episode now than they did in season one. The show has gotten very lazy and formulaic for the most part.

Really surprised to see Jill Hennessy slumming it as a villain of the week.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if this somebody is going after Red story line is their way to bring back Mr. Kaplan.

Why not do a villain of the week, it's not like she's doing anything else. She kind of disappeared after Crossing Jordan, according to Wikipedia only 27 TV guest spots in the 10 years since it stopped.

I'm Facebook friends with her on her non-like personal page and I follow her Twitter feed. She more or less promotes her music appearances there.

Didn't know about the music direction. Makes a lot more sense now.
If we're going to have guest stars doing the villain of the week thing on procedurals they could do much worse than Jill Hennessy.

She likely did it for a paycheck. A featured guest actor can earn a nice paycheck for one or two weeks of work. It's how many of these former stars pay the bills after they are out of the limelight.
Jamie Kennedy showed up on Lucifer for a role this week for likely the very same reasons.

So none of these Harem girls recognized Elizabeth Keen from the news? I mean Keen's face was plastered all over the news when she was a fugitive.

You mean to tell me that a group of highly trained and highly analytical thieves would not notice any slight resemblance that a newbie wanting to join their group had to a certain fugitive who was wanted by the law not a few months ago? That alone made this unbelievable. Didn't the writers remember that in those episodes that Elizabeth was wanted for murder that her face was plastered all over? Sheesh. They should've sent Sarmar instead. Would've made it more believable.

So I just caught up and saw this episode.
Yeah I find it hard to believe that Jill Hennessy's crew did not watch 1 second of the news and know that Liz Keen was plastered on every channel a few months ago. She was like the most wanted woman in the country. That was a pretty bad oversight by the writer of this episode. Plus, Liz made no effort to change her appearance.
Liz simply would not work on any undercover operation in the States or DC.
I agree that Samar would have been a more credible undercover operative for this episode.

From the standpoint of the new bad guy(s) of the week having a believable tie to the actual Blacklist, they have fully and completely jumped the shark. But I have to admit I am enjoying Raymond being a target and that whole sub story with Tom going undercover was played out well for as short as it was.

Boring season for me so far. It seems as if the writers are saving all the storylines for Blacklist Redemption, and as a result, the parent-show suffers.
Basic law of diminishing returns. If you want to do a spinoff, save it until the original show is off the air.
