This...
They must be saving all the good stories for The Blacklist: Redemption.
However, I did the like the quote that Redd gave to Skylar and his mom: "Picasso once said it took him four years to paint like Raphael... but it took forever to learn to paint like a child."
That hit me in the feels.
That and poor Mr. Kaplan.

This season just hasn't been as good to me. She is such a little baby and to me the weakest character on the show. I'm curious what's going on with Mr Kaplan

I liked this episode. There was more blacklister plot than Agnes plot, which I prefer. Tired of this baby plot.
And it was eerie to hear the San Bruno tidbit, since I have a relative connected to that incident.

No one commented last week. I guess it just got buried and forgotten in the hundreds of threads here.
Only big reveal last week was the confirmation that Kirk is actually Liz's father. But, Mr. Kaplan was MIA even though the previous week teased her whereabouts.

Wow, 5 days later and no one has said anything. I don't know if there is too much on or if The Blacklist is no longer must see TV here. Probably a little of both I guess.
Anyways, glad the whole Agnes drama is over. Kirk is now apprehended and getting Red's treatment.
Also, I was a little surprised that Aram's hot new girlfriend turned out to be a mole and was associated with Kirk.
They're obviously going to set up Aram and Samar at some point.
Probably no one here noticed, but there was actually a Banshee reunion in the episode 2 weeks ago.
Matt Servitto (Brock) and Ulrich Thomsen (Kirk) were in the same episode, but they didn't have any scenes together.

Fall Finale aired Thursday night and probably the biggest reveal of the series and yet crickets continue chirping in The Blacklist threads. 4-5 weeks now with pretty much zero activity. It's not like the last 4-5 weeks have been all crap filler.
Well, Red is Liz's real father. Which most here assumed was possible since the Pilot.
One of the EP's and writers of the show confirmed it.

I'm really curious how they're going to segue to the spinoff with Ryan Eggold and Famke.

Re: The Blacklist (S4E08) -- "Dr. Adrian Shaw: Conclusion" -- 11/10/16
Exactly. The show plays so many games with Liz's history that it was hard to take it as "big reveal" as opposed to "another twist".
Here's how they handle it:
- We find out Liz'a DNA doesn't match Alexander Kirk's, but he immediately goes on about how Raymond somehow had his hand on the scale. Normally, we'd just take that as denial on his part, but because Raymond pulls so many rabbits out of his hat to surprise the audience, we can't discount Kirk's position.
- Raymond is full of drugs and supposedly at the precipice of death when Kirk asks him if he's Liz's father. At first he says no, but Kirk is about to give him more drugs (which the doctor said would kill him). So Raymond says, "What do you want me to say?" At this point, I'm not thinking, "Here comes an honest confession brought on by fear of death." What I'm thinking is, "People who are being tortured will say anything just to get it to stop." So then Raymon says, "Yes, I'm her father".
I'm glad DJariya posted the information because I did not finish that episode thinking, "We finally know the real relationship between Liz and Raymond."

I'm sure Liz won't find out the truth about Red for some time.

And of course Liz wasn't there so Red can keep telling lies and half truths until the next finale. Maybe the spinoff will not be a soap opera.
That's the most obvious answer, but wouldn't that conflict with entire other episodes where they covered what happened with/to her in the past? Ah hell, this is the Blacklist and that kind of stuff doesn't matter.

It's not unexpected. The show had written itself into a corner with Red's relationship with Liz. What else could he be to Liz if not her father?

Great fall finale. Really looking forward to this when it comes back next year. So Red is Liz's dad big deal. We all knew from the very first show. I am fine with that. The only other thing he could have been was an uncle etc...

I figured neither Kirk nor Red could be Liz's father because Liz remembers shooting her father, and Red said her father was dead. I figured there was a third person involved.
Here's an EW interview where Jon Bokenkamp is decidedly coy about whether Red is really her father:

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Is Red actually Liz’s father?
JON BOKENKAMP: I think it’s best to let the show and its characters answer that. Anything that’s meaningful is in the scripts and on the screen. Everything else is noise.
Should we trust what Red told Kirk about being Liz’s father or was he just telling Kirk what he wanted to hear?
Well, he did say he was her father and he sounded like he meant it. That said, he was also heavily drugged with god knows what. I’ll let you decide.
Kirk says there’s nothing that could stop him from killing Red, and yet he actually stopped. What can you tease of what’s really going on and when we’ll find out what Red whispered?
The truth is, we’re not going to find out what he said. That whisper was a secret between the two men who loved Katarina. Besides, if you really knew what Red said the show would probably be over.
.....
Everyone has suspected that Red was Liz’s father since the beginning. Why did you decide to go this route?
Ultimately this is a ‘chosen one’ story. Elizabeth Keen is clearly incredibly important to Red. Why? That’s what we’re slowly revealing over time, and trust me, the answers are all there. As you pointed out — the father theory is only one of many. For me, it was never so much about is he her father or is he not — but why is this young woman so important to Raymond Reddington?

I don't know what to think about this episode... but I'm going to take a cue from something Ressler did this ep and simply throw it under the closest moving vehicle and walk by it's twisted bloody corpse and go on with with my day while innocent onlookers stand there in shock.
Yeah, that's what I'll do.
Yeah, that's what I'll do.
