I guess the "work of art" promo picture is the actors not being in character based on how a certain someone is dressed up.
Hopefully they somehow manage to bring this show back to life. It's really been sub-par the last few seasons and has been somewhat repetitive. Like many shows, you know they're grasping when they introduce a new kid who's supposed to be extra-cute - since most of the other kids are grown up.

I'm in the same boat with this as I am with TBBT. I still really enjoy it every week and look forward to it....but as Dex said it's time to wrap this one up. I still get a lot of laughs but there really hasn't been anything memorable for the past couple of seasons.

It's ratings have declined, but I have a feeling this will go at least 10 seasons. It's still one of ABC's most watched shows. They will milk this until no one is watching.

I thought that was one of the better MF episodes of the last couple of years. Everything worked, except for Joe. Plus, us Brooklyn Nine Nine fans got Stephanie Beatriz to make up for last night's omission.

Funny episode. Lots of good jokes and clever turns.
Who knew you could be allergic to carriage leather?
Call the race track and get the doctor!
Machete wedding gifts.
Phil and Luke lying like each other.
We'll finish what that unlicensed carnival started!
Tell her to bring Manny and the cookies
Looks to me like Julie Bowen had a nip and tuck done. She's starting to get Joker face.

The show still has it's moments, they're few and far between now. But I also don't think the "bad" episodes are that bad. I still manage to be decently entertained.
I thought this was a pretty good start to the season. Mitch and Cam were blah and I do not like that they're working Joe in as a character now, that kind of stuff never works. But Jay/Gloria was funny, especially Gloria's response to Manny getting kidnapped. The Dunphy stuff was good too, I like how Luke and Phil struggled to lie about where they were. This show always does a good job with the Three's Company bits.

I got a really good laugh out of the "Kiss me like the sissy I am!" line.

I thought it was a decent episode, but it feels like so much has changed with the actors.
Manny is taller, a bit slimmer and awkward. Luke got even taller and more awkward, and his voice seems like it's still 3 years behind where it should be. Claire obviously had some work done. Jay sounded different at times, Lilly has grown and sounds different and Cam looks like he aged a few years.
I loved Gloria throwing water on the kids face. She didn't hold back.
So I guess in between seasons Haley and Andy broke up (as she stated)? That was quick.
So we see Rosa on Modern Family before we see her on her own show Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

I'm not as down on this show as everyone else. There are still plenty of laughs to go around as well as clever moments (hit or miss). There were a few late season episodes last year that were fantastic.
That being said, Cam & Mitchell (and by proxy, Lily) are dead weight. Once a year they might get a halfway decent (i.e. funny) plot. This premier just reinforced that. What a lame storyline. However I did at Mitchell telling Grandma to "let go." The "drop it" bit with the casket was clever too but didn't land as well as the "let go" bit.
That was hilarious. I couldn't believe she totally went for it like he was an older actor. It was glorious.

Tonight's was probably the worst I've seen. Maybe I wasn't in the mood but I though it was poor from start to finish.

I like how they made a big deal about having a transgender kid actor and he was hardly in the show and had no lines.
