Justice League Action (CN) (201?)

http://io9.gizmodo.com/cartoon-netwo...igg-1780811080

When Cartoon Network finally announced Justice League Action, the long-rumored new series that would face the daunting task of following up on the iconic Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, many expected it to take a hard focus on DC’s trinity of Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman. But it looks like the show’s roster will be wider and weirder than anyone expected.

The original teaser art from Justice League Action—which will run in 11-minute episodes and feature the voice talents of Mark Hamill, James Woods, Diedrich Bader, and more—teased an eclectic cast to join Clark, Diana, and Bruce, with sketches of Blue Beetle, Green Arrow, Zatanna and many others peeking out of the background. But new full color artwork that debuted at Kre8tif Conference 2016 over the weekend has revealed our best, blurry look yet at even more heroes and villains that will appear whenever the show actually starts airing.

It’s not the best look, but we can still make out a few obvious (and less obvious) characters here. Here’s a zoomed-in version of just the art:

There’s some more obvious characters you can spot there—Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Joker, Harley Quinn, Lobo, Martian Manhunter, and Shazam, to name a few. Then some cool surprise additions like Doctors Light and Fate, the Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle, Big Barda, Firestorm, and what might be Swamp Thing on the far left of the second row. But there’s definitely a few in there that we can’t quite put our fingers on. If you can identify some of the mysterious figures, let us know in the comments!
artwork from the show:

looks like it is scheduled to premiere in fall 2016, so a mod can change the title if they want.

Shazam/Captain Marvel, Firestorm, Dr. Fate and Dr. light? I'm in, as if I weren't already. Though ugh with the 11 minute episodes, especially if there's continuity involved because I have no faith in CNs schedule.

Yeah 11mins is a big meh. But I'd still support this.

I forgot about this. I remember someone else mentioning it in another thread quite some time ago with a pic of a poster.

I wish they'd just restart JLU. 11 minutes? They're bringing back the 70's. Might as well call it Superfriends.

Geez, some of you people will complain about anything. Might be good, might not. I'll reserve judgment until I actually see something.

Figured this would be a big rotating roster like JLU. I mean besides the big three, there are none of the other movie-JL guys.

Just as long as Detective Chimp shows up I'll be all set.

I think the main problem is the length. It might be great but JL, JLU and Young Justice got us use to extended story lines that took place over multiple episodes and even full season. This seems to be a channel to sell toys by targeting short attention span kids. At least when I was a kids, Transformers, M.A.S.K, GI Joe et al were a half hour.

I like long form, but I also like short form. I can see 11 minute episodes that are light on plot working just fine. It's not supposed to be the same show as before. That kind of show will come back around eventually.

Re: Justice League Action (CN) (201?)

A few years ago DC had a bunch of mini cartoons airing in a block on CN that were really cool, but light (I still want Super Best Friends Forever collected on disk, and I love the style of that Animal Man vs. Darkseid one). Thats where Teen Titans Go came from. I don't mind the format, just that Cartoon Network really screws around with dvr listings. For instance, I dvr Stephen Universe which is in the same format and often get Regular Show or some other random show, and I have no idea why.

A very select bunch of those shorts you mentioned made it to Blu-ray as special features on the animated DC movies.

Looks better then I thought, although I'm not a big fan of the animation style.

I like it. It actually looks like they changed the art style from anime-styled to more western.

Seems like they combined JLU, Young Justice, and Teen Titans Go. I could use less Teen Titans Go.

I really hope Starman (any version) shows up. I don't think he's appeared in any DC animated show yet.

Re: Justice League Action (CN) (201?)

No one has mentioned it's the classic Superman costume in slightly modified form. No underwear on the outside, but the standard yellow belt is back. I've noticed DC licensing has basically stopped using the New 52 Superman outfit and logo for all products aimed at children in the past year.

The Batman design looks less than intimidating to me but I realize this is aimed at a younger audience. Everything else looks alright, there is nothing in them that bothers me as a huge fan of the classic costumes.

I get the feeling most Western animation these days is designed with the expressed intent on making life easier for the animators.
