I don't begrudge Kristofer Hivju for accepting work, but watching Tormund Giantsbane in commercials as the Wyndham Rewards Wyzard is really weird.

The Arya storyline is boring to me now. Her decision to leave the House of Black and White basically made her storyline the last 2 seasons pointless. She doesn't become a fully trained faceless assassin, so what's her purpose now? To finish her list, and without the training that could have helped her?
Cool seeing Benjen again. Clearly his story has been combined with the Coldhands character.
The Tarly dinner scene was the best in the episode. Have no idea what Sam is thinking taking the sword though.
I think it's cool that Jaime's storyline has been put back on the track with the books...and that Brienne will also be there...perhaps we will see LSH afterall.
I wonder if Dorne will even be mentioned in the TV series again.

Confirmation from D&D: Cold Hands=Benjen Stark
Definitely a character building ep. Looks like they're taking Jaime's story back to the books.

It seems like before going to take on the High Sparrow, it would have been a good idea to put the king somewhere safe.
It was interesting to hear the gasps at fake Joffrey's death. I guess he was more beloved by the public than hose in the know.

Probably the first episode since S6E1 that didn't hit it out of the park. Was still okay though. Loving these Shakespeare-lite histories. They are a blast to watch. Not buying the Tommin storyline at all. Maybe it's all an elaborate ruse, but it doesn't look like one and you have to wonder what the hell he's thinking.

I guess all the Benjen mentions from earlier this year weren't for nothing. It's kind of the opposite of the Ser Barristan reveal in season 3 (for frame of reference the book calls Ser Barristan Whitebeard for 700 pages until they reveal who he is...can't do that with an actor). In this case, Coldhands has been a character in the book for awhile, but if you show him then you identify him So they decided not to use him to get Sam and Gilly back to the wall, and Bran and Co to the tree and just saved him until they needed him.
Went through all the Bran flash memories. Only thing readily identifiable is Jaime killing the Mad King and sitting on the Iron Throne. There was also a bloody hand I was unsure of. Did anyone catch anything else we haven't seen?
So Sam shows some balls and takes the sword. As we saw with Longclaw, those can kill Whitewalkers. Presumably Sam would know that.
I'm not liking muting Jaime's redemption by putting him on Team Cersei. Though I do wonder what Margaery's game is. We saw a few weeks ago that this was a play. Is she doing this just to save Loras?
The Dany scene at the end didn't make much sense to me. What was there that we didn't already know. Strange scene to end the episode on.
Maybe we'll finally get Bronn next week. This has been a lot of episodes without him.

The Mad King!
Martin has said at cons, as well as telling his editors, that Coldhands isn't Benjen so he's either lying or B&W are just using the fan theory because it is the easiest explanation.
The Arya story really needs to get moving.

I like this Randall tarly guy; Mean mf'er and looks like someone that could live up to the reputation of the only person to have defeated Robert Baratheon in battle

glad to see Jamie will be leaving behind Kings Landing. His story is always better away from his sister.
How has his tv arc differed from the books exactly?
I was happy to see Arya grab needle because I assume that means she will be headed west soon. Her training has been monotonous and boring for some time.
Interesting return of Uncle Ben. He has been dealing with the Raven and the Children for years and his nephew is just now running into him?
Laughed when Sam grabbed the Tully sword off of the mantle. Too bad he couldn't sack up and go off on his father in front of everyone.

He was sent to Riverrun right after Tywin's funeral. All the stuff with the High Sparrow and him never happened in the book, he doesn't know about Cersei's arrest until she tells him in a letter.

Also, Tyrion's parting words to Jaime about Cersei's infidelities cut Jaime pretty much to the core (Moon Boy?)--Tyrion is lashing out b/c of the Tysha story Jaime tells him. It's to the point where Jaime feels like he doesn't know her at all.
When Cersei gets arrested and writes him begging him for his help he throws away the letter.

To be a mostly-trained assassin but not be limited by the rules of only being able to kill whom she is hired to kill.

Given that they included the Mad King into Bran's vision, I think it's still possible Bran is the source of the voices. I don't see any other reason to include those clips.
