The actress who plays Jennifer is the only bright spot for this season. The heart of the first season was the interaction between Cole and Cassie. That has been sorely lacking in season two. It seems they have tried everything to limit their time together on screen. In trying to make Cassie cold and distance they have also made her less likable. Cole's become more of a loyal puppy than a hero.
I actually enjoyed the most recent episode, at least there was some real progression in the story. I may even be looking forward to the rest of the season!

That's been one of my biggest peeves since season one -- we're supposed to believe that Cassie would fall for that schlump? At least she actually had some chemistry with Deacon. Season three should just be Deacon and Jennifer time hopping like the lunatics they are.

Jennifer +1
No Cole + Cassie -1
I like that they did alter the future via the past at one point. The witness/time storm/living time stuff is a bit hokey though.

Emily Hampshire (Jennifer) really showcases her acting skills each episode. She'll probably never get any Emmy recognition for her role, but she definitely deserves it.

I've been loving season two, though the chemistry between Cole and Cassie has been missing. The only reason I haven't commented on the season is that I only recently caught up with it on the DVR.
So who is the Witness? It's going to be someone we already know.

Cole == Witness?
After Monday's (somewhat disappointing) episode. So the guy says he isn't going to paradox the woman but does it anyway? Huh?

Cole or Cassie could be The Witness. I'm thinking Cassie. Some kind of time loop with the yet to be born Cassie sharing memories with the 1959 Cassie.

That's what I am thinking but weren't there several events that both Cole and Cassie caused that the Witness didn't predict? Ramsey's kid is still a lose end and he did lose both parents.

Just finished the July 11th episode and thought it was great. The chemistry between Cole and Cassie came back. When Ramsey and his crew entered Titan, it reminded me of Skynet.

Looks like the show may be going in more of an action/adventure style like Stargate, etc.
Cassie's hair looked shorter in the 2063 scene. Maybe they've started shooting season three and shot that scene with season three.

The witness was a foregone conclusion once Cassie said she was knocked up (Cole is one lucky SOB) and Jennifer continues to be the star of the show switching from trite cookie fortunes to trite movie monologues for leadership inspiration. Much of this season dragged but I'm still looking forward to season three.

The last two episodes brought make the old charm. They really need to keep Cole and Cassie together on screen. Jennifer is great but the Cole/Cassie dynamic is the driver of the show. I was disappointed for most of the season which I thought started out strong but dropped dramatically. It ended better and hope it will keep the momentum into season 3.

Found myself fast forwarding though large chunks of the last few episodes. Had to especially laugh when characters slaughtered at the end of one (or a previous) episode were again all alive mere moments (for me) later. Zero consequences for any character's actions and a story that is clearly has no underlying direction, so what exactly is the point? Easy delete.

I thought for sure it would be Ramse's kid.

I am very positive with the overall plot developments we saw in season two. I was worried its storytelling would get less ambitious after a successful and fairly deep season one, but they upped the ante.
It was neat seeing Madeleine Stowe making an appearance as a callback to the movie. The finale included a couple of unexpected solutions to ongoing story-lines in a completely natural way. Revealing Titan to be the time machine itself was a cool surprise.
While I loved the idea that the Witness is Cole and Cassie's baby from the alternate timeline, they rushed that relationship far too fast within the episode. That is a development that needed more time to sink in with audiences. The relationship between Cassie and Cole the entire season was weak. I understand now why they kept them separated, but that ran too long for most fans' tastes.
I worry a bit about introducing a much more distant future into the show than 2044. It's so hard pulling off a convincing and consistent world that won't resemble our current society.

Was watching "Life After Chernobyl" (Animal Planet) and I didn't know there was a place there called the Red Forest. Of course, 12 Monkeys has the fictional place called the Red Forest.
On the Chernobyl show, they showed that the dead trees and leaves on the ground don't decay, due to the high radiation. Basically, the radiation killed off the organisms that cause decay. It essence, it seems as if time has stopped. Kind of reminded me of the crazy time stuff on 12 Monkeys. Maybe that's where the writers got their inspiration.

I just finished binging season 2. I liked it a lot. It was strong throughout, but the last half of the season was especially great. I'm kind of surprised by some of the negative reviews here.
Separating Cole and Railly for the early part of the season paid off when they got together near the end. I also liked that Railly had more of an edge to her this season. I think the actress does an excellent job.
Jennifer really became a great character this season. Not just her funny pop-culture references, but her role in the whole story. Heroic, tragic, mysterious, hilarious.
I was completely surprised when Madeline Stowe appeared! That was awesome!
I count the movie as one of my all time favorites, but when they announced the series, I was very skeptical that it would be any good--especially as a Syfy show. I am very happy so far with how it's going. The setup for next season (going into their future) is a new direction that has me interested. Glad to hear it was renewed for a 3rd season, though the reduction to 10 episodes doesn't bode well.

Stowe's appearance was a neat surprise. Season two turned Jennifer into a likable character. I couldn't stand most of her appearances in season one.

This past season definitely had its ups and downs but I am really glad I took the time to watch all of the episodes (I mostly binged in mini chunks of 2-3 episodes in a row after letting 7-8 eps accumulate on my tivo), and am actually looking forward to the new season in 2017.
